But what gives you expertise to decide if it's derogatory? I mean personally I don't care on either side. I don't have a strong opinion. If the Braves change their name, I don't care, if they don't i don't care. I don't have strong opinions but I'm a white man. I don't have a strong connection to my ancestry being profited off of by a corporation. I do understand the harshness of having a team named after an indigenous warrior, in a state that famously was illegally stripped the Cherokee people of their land because of a Gold Rush. But I have no real opinion, because it doesn't hurt me or give me pride.
