GDT 28/7/2020: Brave New Post-Folty World Leaves Everything Faulty

For the throw in the towel crowd, it's so early that Alex Jackson has a higher ops than FF. Swanson's ops is higher than the sum of Acuna and albies. Cut the tv off tonight and relax.. things will get better

Or the season gets canceled and those numbers stay that way.

Now we get to hear about how good the stuff is of everything single opposing pitcher, as if they don’t understand that 95 isn’t special anymore.

I was told by several advanced baseball minds Acuna thrives in the lead off slot. I need them to explain this.

It’s comedy listening to the broadcasters use the opposing pitchers velocity as an excuse for lack of offense, and then claim it’s not a big deal that Braves pitchers don’t have elite velocity. And I didn’t even pay for a comedy show!!

Chip is a walking proof against the internet-fueled notion that cognitive dissonance is by itself a sign of high intelligence.

All I can say is I think they should try to score some runs this inning.

Does Tom Glavine have anything to say, or is he just talking anyway?

What is there to talk about?

“Damn these guys can’t hit fastballs down the middle”

Or

“Man our pitchers can’t locate their fastball so nobody swings at their offspeed stuff”

Based on what Wright did before failing to get the 3rd out in the 3rd, I think I'd give him 2 more starts with a veteran catcher before potentially acting (and it might not matter anyway because we are in a world of hurt in the rotation). That stretch was honestly probably the best he's looked since his debut against the Red Sox because even his decent start vs Miami was very...run of the mill.

Obviously, what happened after that was a problem. But we honestly might not have a choice but clasp our hands together and hope he makes it happen.

Wright looked really good and just lost it. One strike away from ending the inning and just lost his feel for the ball. It was weird. He was missing by feet.

Hopefully Anderson gets a shot here fairly soon. Having only two reliable starters is gonna be tough sledding
