GDT 28/7/2020: Brave New Post-Folty World Leaves Everything Faulty

Freddie is toast rumblings after 4 games? Really?

Of course not. His utterly terrible start to the season is most likely due to him not being ready after fighting off Covid and having a very brief summer camp. However, he's a first baseman who relies on bat speed with a history of arm and wrist problems closing in on 31. We should probably expect some decline and should definitely be cautious about an extension. It's likely a good thing he's only signed through next season.

No getting around the fact that you're using a four game sample to rumble on darkly about Freddie's future, which no one was really talking about.

It's fine. I'm not mad. But you're totally doing it.

I
don't think anyone is doing so over four games, and especially not these four games. It's been an occasional topic of discussion for a couple of years now, because of the type of player he is and the nearness of his contract expiration.

I spent 30 minutes searching for the right amount of passive aggressive sarcasm I would use to say I told you so about Wright but it just isnt coming to me.
