GDT 7/13 vs Reds Injured Outfield Edition

Great win today. So frustrating to watch this team but they win more than they lose. Thats all you can ask.

Minor with a 3.02 ERA and 3.34 FIP.

Certainly our pitching MVP

He also doesn't get enough credit with most fans. Just look how fast some were turning against him earlier in this thread. I understand that it didn't look like he'd pitch a gem early. But only a few of us noted the ump squeezing him, etc. Medlen on the other hand gets a lot of praise when he's not been near as good, IMO.

not sure who plays where if FF sits. Pastor at 3b and CJ at first? Terdo at 1b and Pastor in CF? It gets ugly regardless.

I don't think anyone was turning against Minor. Obviously he has been our anchor in the rotation this season and that isn't up for debate. He had been struggling as of late, especially giving up home runs. Not too mention this was four straight games where the Braves starter had given up early runs. He was awful in the first two innings and it looked like he was going to unravel. The important thing is that he kept his composure and pitched a helluva game.

It's a GDT man. Emotions are always running high and a lot of what is said is reactionary comments to what is happening at that moment. This is a level-headed bunch for the most part and you can't take what you see in a GDT to heart. Just ask TURBO about me in the GDT's.

I also think we were frustrated early on because we didn't have a lot of confidence in our lineup. If you would have told us we were going to score 5 runs we would have been more understanding. We thought we had to pitch a shutout to have a chance to win.

sheesh Colin K wannabe, Minor has ice in his veins. After those runs he said to himself "Ain't no thang" like he has always done when giving up early runs. Dude just doesn't care. He will just compete just like your QB in SF. So don't sweat these Sweathogs in here.

So happy to leave the house down 2-1 and get home to see a 5-2 win. Constanza did a nice job today and helped us win. But it's still just 1 game.

Note, that second sentence was just a recent example. I was generally speaking overall. As I've said in the past, I believe Minor has been underrated for sometime now.

Pretty sure you don't ever leave the house. You just don't post sometimes to make it look like you have a life away from the board. :Bunchie1:

I think what's interesting is if you asked how close Minor and Medlen are in their past calendar year in fWAR I don't think a soul would get it right.

I think if you asked how close those two were in fWAR, I don't think a soul would care.

Chicago beat Philly 5-4 in extras in game one of their DH. Hopefully they sweep it. It would be nice to knock Philly back as they've been hot of late (and were only 7 back coming in).

Just got in from umpiring all day. Glad to see that we pulled out a win without the amazing 3. I love the fact that we go into the break with no worse than a 5 game lead.
