He honestly might be the streakiest player I've ever seen. He'll hit .150 for a month, then hit .550 with 15 homers the next month. Have a year where he's a 2.5 WAR player, then a year where he's a 9 WAR player (well, once). The overall is really good (but not nearly as good as his worshipers in the sports media want him to be), but man you have to suffer through some **** to get it.
 
As Cy said, Harper is still pretty damn good, but he's one of those guys who, when I watch him, say to myself "As good as he is, he could be better." He swings at a lot of sh*t.

he is going to get PAID.
i'm sure the Phillies have offered him a lot. he wants more.
their fans are annoyed he isn't signed yet. i'm guessing he's asking for crazy numbers based on his positioning. he has a lot of leverage. and the fans crowing about it might actually be making it slightly more difficult for the team to actually sign him.
