The Trump Presidency

Remember that whole US Attorney Berman resignation/firing debacle where Trump was going to replace him with his golfing buddy lackey who had no experience working as a prosecutor? By doing what Berman did he managed to get his deputy Audrey Strauss promoted to fill the position rather than the Trump loyalist. Since that time that US Attorney office has arrested Ghislaine Maxwell and now Bannon. That seem awfully coincidental. Member when I pointed out how Bill Barr seemed to get angry when pressed about the Berman resignation situation and angrily said "he was being removed". I thought that was significant at the time. Now it is making a lot more sense. I actually dont think Trump had anything to do with this as evidence by his lack of prepared propoganda statement when asked about Berman's resigniation by the media where he basically said he had nothing to do with it. He probably had no idea why Barr wanted him removed but knew if the OG AG wanted him gone it was for a good reason. I think Barr this was an attempted cover up/attempt to obstruct one or both of these investigations. And who knows, maybe there is more.

A lot of info about the DeJoy appointment I didnt know. Apparently he is the first appointee in decades to not come from within USPS. Supposedly they hired a private firm to conduct the search for a new Postmaster General and are using that to try and deflect criticism. Apparently Mnuchin was more involved in that decision making than the Trump administration has admitted.

Former MLB pitcher Curt Schilling has been arrested in the same case for which Steve Bannon was arrested earlier today.

Curt Schilling's Twitter timeline is full of accusations that Democrats are criminals.

He is now in custody.

I dont normally wish harm to anyone let alone old ballplayers

Back in the summer of 2016, Steve Bannon interviewed Peter Schweizer on Bannon’s Breitbart News radio show. The two discussed Clinton Cash, the 2015 book that Schweizer wrote about Bill and Hillary Clinton’s foreign financial entanglements. Bannon’s takeaway was simple. The Clintons, he insisted, are corrupt. “The Clinton have sold out their own people for cold cash,” Bannon said. “They are grifters.” He added, baselessly, that the former first couple was running a “money laundering operation.” (Bannon would go on to run the Trump campaign and briefly serve in the Trump White House.)

Fast forward to 2020: Bannon, along with three other individuals, has been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit wire fraud relating to an effort to build a donor-funded wall on the US-Mexico border. According to US Attorney Audrey Strauss, Bannon and the other defendants “defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of that money would be spent on construction.”

During the 2016 radio broadcast, Bannon asserted that the Clintons had exploited progressive causes—global warming, environmental issues, human trafficking—and “monetized it on a global scale.” Though Bannon’s claims were baseless, the hypocrisy is clear. He’s now been charged with exploiting anti-immigrant hysteria in an effort to defraud right-wing donors.

Supposedly SDNY investigators have texts between Bannon and the other top people arrested for running this scam. I wonder if they outright talk about what suckers MAGA people are and how easy it is to dupe them. In MAGA culture you are either a predator or a mark.
