Nats @ Braves - Doubleheader 9/4. Game 2

Freeman aside, we were flailing something fierce at Rainey’s stuff.

Coming into today, he had 0.6 fwar, a 2.28 fip/2.92xfip, and was striking out 13.22/9. He's been pretty damn good—and it's as visible in his stuff as his numbers. That hr/fb% was bound to regress from 8.3%, however, and—outside that k/9 (which will actually go up)—all his numbers are going to look worse tomorrow.

Not sure why Dayton is in when Smith, Martin, or MM didnt pitch in Game 1.

Looks like Markakis is hitting his second-half slump, despite the season only being sixty games (and his version being even shorter) ...

Phillies up 3-2 over NYM in the top of the 8th and threatening to add on.

Would really like to take this game and keep the pressure on. With the ZE's luck tonight in game-two, though, that outcome feels sort of sus.

Just absolutely felt in my guts that the RH Turner was going to do that against the LHP Smith. Was hoping to be wrong.

Should've stuck with his FB. That slider still ain't it this season.

Or **** it: just walk Turner, with no Soto in the lineup.
