GDT: 9/7 Marlins at Braves

Dansby's line is .294/.351/.475. That will damn well play.

I like that the walk-rate is trending in the right direction, too. It was hard to fault him early on, when he was socking everything around the park; but I nonetheless had a bit of concern that his isoOBP was so low.

It's always the same story for Markakis: he starts with fire stretches where he's hitting everything (at least against RHPs) in the air, and hard enough; then he totally forgets his launch-angle successes and starts pulling everything on the ground.

Just not sure what accounts for it.

Anderson's command hasn't been sharp today. Missing his spots a lot.

I know you've been taking some flack for it, but I was another poster who voiced some concerns about Anderson's walk-rate throughout his minor-league career. But just like I wasn't going to judge it unproblematic based on his first twelve innings, I'm not going to sit here and say it is a problem based on today's three.

Like I said above, he's certainly looked more poised than Wright, Toussaint, and Wilson have mostly looked. But command is nonetheless something we'll have to watch with him—especially given his pitch-mix, and the way his best pitches work up-&-down, with not a lot of horizontal movement.
