GDT: 9/8 Marlins (Sanchez) at Braves (Wright)

Funny how everyone was mad at those of us who said we suck at pitching earlier in the year, and now everyone is coming around to it.

I’m not going to overreact to some losses to the Marlins but honestly unless Hameln can come back in the next week I just don’t see how we can have the pitching to win a playoff series.
We literally have one healthy MLB starting pitcher right now who is a rookie to boot.
The rest are journeymen and AAAA arms.
Our offense and bullpen are elite but I’ve never seen a team win a championship with no starting pitching much less a series.
Maybe we are due some good luck at the end of the year in regards to heath with a returning Fried and Hamels.
If we can’t add payroll next season which is likely, it’s going to be real interesting to see how AA improves our Rotation.
You can’t just hope Folty/Newcombe/Wright can step up and Soroka comes back healthy.
I’d bet we are about to see loads of trades this offseason.

When the WP advanced Ozuna to 3rd, I knew the Braves wouldn't score. Dob has confirmed my thoughts with this post

With runners in scoring position, #Braves rank 10th in MLB in average and 5th in OPS. So, not bad.

With RISP and 2 outs, they are 11th in avg and 9th in OPS.

With runner at third and less than 2 outs, they're 19th in avg (.312), compared to, say, Phillies' .455 and Nats' .424

Any news on folty?

GM Alex Anthopoulos said of Fotlynewicz: "He continues to work extremely hard, but it’s hard for me to put any type of expectations at this point. He’s doing everything he can, his work ethic has been off the charts."
