Playoffs discussion 2020

So is Harold Reynolds the dumbest announcer on MLB?

He was breaking down the Wong error and said that wong should have tried to throw the ball to the bag. Um really

Then he said ‘this might be the greatest play you may ever see.‘ This is why neck tattoo is a HOF. Then showed neck tattoo catch a throw home for a force out and then throw a ball to second because the runner stopped. So the greatest play is a simple catch and throw to 2nd. Amazing.

Step one is achieved. No asterisks allowed. If the Braves can get bounced in a one game WC, winning a 3 game series is absolutely legit.

Interesting how the brackets have worked out. Braves Marlins and Astros A's are somewhat under the radar. Yanks Rays and Dodgers Pads will get all the press.

Braves on paper are better but it wont be an easy series with their pitching and playoff Braves offense.

FWIW there's probably more of a chance "playoff Braves offense" breaks out against the Marlins - at least we've seen their Pitchers THIS year, even if they're a little better. No idea how far back you'd have to go to find a time when the Braves saw "Good Darvish", so if he outdueled Fried twice you'd need 4 wins from Anderson and Wright. Would rather take my chances that the bats can get to Pitchers they've seen multiple times - even if the offense isn't clicking on all cylinders.

So we play in Houston. How does that little park play for us. Does it help with our powerful lineup. Does it hurt by making everyone a power hitter. Our pitchers have done a decent job of negating homers. But that will be hard this series.

Based on the end of the season and the playoffs so far, has Stella! become the most valuable deadline acquisition?

'During the regular season, the A’s infielder had just a 5.3 percent strikeout rate in 2020. La Stella holds a solid .274 average across his seven-year career, which was part of the reason why Oakland acquired him via trade from the Los Angeles Angels at the deadline. After just over a month with the club, it appears the A's want to hold on to him.

A’s executive vice president of baseball operations Billy Beane told The San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser he had known about La Stella since 2014 when he was with the Atlanta Braves, but “you don’t realize how good this guy is until you see him on an everyday basis.”'

Another Golden Wren.

Feels like we have a curse to break in Houston also. The 2005 playoff meltdown

Didn’t see anyone post but we play at 7pm Tuesday so we avoided the early start
Mlb at bat app (scoreboard section), and also mlb.com list the game at 2:08 pm EST. Same time for games 2, 3 and eventual game 4. We play at 4:08 pm the eventual game 5.

Basically, in (their) order of importance:
- Yanks play at TBD (game 1), 8 pm (game 2) and 7 pm (games 3-5),
- Dodgers play at 9:30 (game 1), 9 (games 2-4), 8 (game 5)
- Astros-A's play at TBD (game 1) 4:30 (game 2) and 3:30 (games 3-5),
- Braves play at 2:00 (Games 1-4) and 4 (game 5).

Yeah we aren’t playing prime time until we face a team that matters. Fish Braves series is only going to draw the local fans and a few curious folks who are bored.

No need to worry about day games messing with hitters. We are playing in a dome. Glare should t be an issue even if it is open.
