REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Panthers defense is so good this year. It's amazing the turnaround they've and the Saints have both had on defense this year. Going to be a tough game. But I can't see the Panthers beating the Niners again.

They have nailed a few first round draft picks and they have turned out to be superstars.

At this point I think its fair to say that Kaep is the best QB in the NFL.

What do you all think!?!?!?!?!?

I just want to say I appreciate you being a woman of your word. Having to thank every single one of my posts has to be tedious. Don't worry, after the Niners win the Superbowl I'll be back to only posting once a week or so. :icon_biggrin:

Mods, we need a naked Kap icon plz.

I'm with zito on Foles. Dude hits open receivers, but once the league adjusts a bit to the offense, he won't have them. He has a real hard time delivering the ball when his guys are covered moderately well. He doesn't fit the ball in to tight spaces often. He'll take the sack or intentional grounding (had like 4 of them in two weeks). It will be interesting to see. Not turning the ball over at the rate he did is impressive no matter what, but he also lobbed the ball up more than any QB i've seen recently, and his guys came down with the catch. I tend to think that will balance out. He caught a lot of breaks this year IMO. We'll see.

Isn't this the time where I lecture you for a half of day to talk about how "should have" doesn't matter... it's only about what actually happened?

The point is, he didn't throw the ball that well yesterday. He was great on his feet, but his passing needs work. He was pretty fortunate yesterday.

If Hyde comes down with that pick, we arent having this conversation.

Kap did play well, but GB for whatever reason cannot defend Kap.

He has their number.

There was only one ball that should have been a pick. The conditions were horrid for throwing. Kaep was awesome yesterday. He will never be Manning throwing the ball but he is arguably the best runner from the QB position ever aside from Cunningham. Vick to me doesn't count because he was reckless and can't throw a football.

I agree with chucking it up, i said that on another forum and got called a hater by a lot of Philly fans lol.

He's good, yes but i still need to see more before calling him a franchise QB. They have a very difficult schedule next year so we'll see what happens.

There are so many instances of a player not making a play they could have. It wasn't an easy pick but one he could have made. It happens in lots of games.

It hit him right square in the hands.

Easy, no, but one most DB's make.

I'm a cowboy's fan so whatever I say about him gets dismissed by most.

But his numbers looked a lot better than his play this year, IMO. He was not good in that Vikings game, but his numbers looked great. He was getting rattled in Dallas, but Chip reeled it in and started running the ball. He's not a guy I worry about beating me if he has to by himself. Teams didn't see their offense, but now have 17 games of tape on it. I think less guys will be wide open and he won't look nearly as good. And Chip's whole "TOP doesn't matter" narrative is way off. It matters in the NFL.

We will see how teams adjust to the offense. I have a hard time believing it will be as great as it was sometimes consistently.

I went back and watched a few of their games on All-22 bc I was impressed with their offensive scheme. I think they've toned down the TOP doesn't matter...Chip Kelly has shown a willingness to admit when he's wrong and adapt some of his new school ideas with old school methods.

Foles is a guy that always has had a lot of talent, but was real inconsistent at Arizona. I love the offense the Eagles run.....they really design well, imo. i know they knew the Skins would come out in Man coverage and they man beaters they ran impressed me. I see a lot of plays they run are ones I have never seen before. Foles is big, has a strong arm, and is accurate; I'm not sure why people expect him to fail. Personally, I don't look forward to having to face him twice a year.

And irregardless of his talent, they have an innovative mind at head coach. They have probably the biggest threat at RB. Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper....and the young TE they got is really good as well. A league average QB can probably have success with those weapons.

He's certainly going to regress next season, to what extent i dont know.

But they have a hard schedule, especially playing a 1st place schedule (Packers and Panthers) Along with the NFC West and AFC South which should be improved.
