If they'd held onto the guys they traded for Realmuto, they could've spent some "stupid money" this winter on Bauer. A Bauer/Nola/Wheeler/Sanchez/Howard rotation with Hoskins/Harper/Bohm/Crawford as your core and Alfaro and Marchan as a catching tandem would've easily been a better situation.
No one in Philadelphia has time for patience.

Rumor I heard is that Realmuto is target one for the new ownership group for the Mets.
I don't think JTR signing has any impact on the deal. I think you judge deals based on what you gave up at the time for the control. I still think the PHillies made a good deal. The issue wasn't the deal, the issue was either misevaluating where they were in the division or making bad moves elsewhere.
If the Mets spend money when others are not, they could get really good really fast.

Bauer, Realmuto, and Springer are the only ones I see. A few others would be borderline in a normal year, but not during this economy.

Good question. He's an obvious buy-low kind of guy and not just for the Braves. I wonder if after the kerfuffle surrounding his physical condition coming into the season, he'll seek out a new destination. One of the advantages the Braves have is that they did get to watch him after he was sent down and other teams have been unable to scout him. That could limit his market.

Correct me if I miss anything. No waivers left, Arb 3 coming, $6.4 salary, cant reduce offer by more than 20%. Probably not a good move to bring him back at this point and then if he cant keep up DFA or release.
Forgot to mention, I think it is very telling that he wasnt brought up for the potential of 4 or 5 game series considering the unknown of Wright or anyone such as Tomlin or Wilson.

Folty had some positive news at one point but didn't have the stamina to be a starter. With almost no news coming out of the alternative site I'm not sure where he ended up at the end of the year.
Regarding his salary. Yeah there is no way they are going to tender him a contract. The idea would be to release him where he becomes a FA and then sign him to a much lower deal. Now this rarely happens where the team releasing the player resigns him. They usually just go to another team.

It was curious to me though that he actually stuck around/was kept around the alternate site until the end. Perhaps there is some sort of handshake agreement where we will non tender him and then re-sign at a big discount as a result.

They can speak for themselves if they wish. They can choose my approach if they wish and run the bully and his toadies off by not enabling them and not standing for their actions. Or they can sit on their hands and grin when good 'ol Enscheff comes along for their lunch money. That's up to them.

You're going to keep seeing it, in any thread I like, any time I like.
If the rules allow Enscheff and his toadies to ruin everyone's board experience, I'll play by those same rules for as long as I can.
There's a lot of people here who know what I'm doing. Sorry for any collateral damage. But if I can rid the board of the cancer, even if I go with it, at least the board will be a better place afterward.
