Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Frank Thomas elected to Cooperstown!

Thomas should've gotten close to Maddux territory percent of the vote. Dude was one of the best hitters of all time.

I get Thomas and Glavine being a bit lower. Glavine wasn't quite as dominant so I can see maybe making a case that he's not a HOF (I think he is of course) Thomas was a DH and DH and HOF are touchy.

Guys like Maddux, Rickey Henderson, and Randy Johnson though there's nothing you can hold against them. Not even a little. It's time to stop the whole "no one got 100%" bull****. I also think that you have to give a detailed opinion on why you voted or didn't vote for certain players, if you can't provide a valid reason, you lose your ability to vote.

Was that taken today!??! Did Maddux take a flight to Atlanta that fast because at the announcement he was in Vegas.

Good, hopefully next time he won't Be a Tard. :YDS:

And then the guy says he's never heard 'Tard' used in a derogatory context?

This has been an interesting saga, mainly because all of the MLB beat writers have been flipping their collective little ****s on Twitter the past 24 hours.

The real villain in all of this is Gurnick and his ilk. Le Batard's vote was the fan's vote.

SO they ban him, but not the guy who voted for 1 person. Or the guys who had Jacque Jones, Armando Benitez, Hideo Nomo, or Paul LoDuca on their ballots.
LeBatard's was a legit ballot; the guys who got votes deserved them according to a lot of people.

According to the NYT's Tyler Kepner, Maddux stated unequivocally and without hesitation that this was the best game of his career: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/SLN/SLN199508200.shtml

Complete game, 88 pitches, 66 strikes.

****, man.

I scored a great ticket behind home plate for this game vs the Pirates. It was one of my all-time favorite live baseball experiences.

CG shutout for Maddux, 91 pitches, 67 strikes. He walked none, of course, and allowed six hits (1 XBH), at least a couple of which were infield jobs. Just masterful.
