It's obvious there's a clear divide between Biden and Trump supporters.
Most Biden supporters believe COVID is a serious issue. Most Trump supporters don't, and thus don't care to attend the rallies with thousands of others.
There's a reason Biden is crushing Trump all over the country with mail-in turnout. And we're here debating on Biden having tiny rallies.

I really do think the Democrats picked the perfect candidate to unseat Trump. They had to pick someone who wouldn't be scary for moderates and wouldn't enrage Republicans. Bernie Sanders would have energized the base but driven moderates who dislike Trump to hold their nose and vote for him. Since the base needed little motivation with Trump on the ballot, Sanders energizing them would have had a negligible effect. Similarly, someone like Hillary who Republicans hate would have resulted in moderate Republicans (who would otherwise stay home) coming out to support Trump.
The Democrats needed a vanilla candidate. Trump was doing all the work they needed to get their base worked up, they just needed someone who wouldn't screw things up. You don't get more vanilla than Biden.

This is exactly right. The Democrats best play was to put someone non-controversial out there and they played it well.
I know what's not worrying Dems, is they are on the verge of winning the Presidency.
Can worry about all of the other stuff later.

People want a return to normalcy. Biden was a safe pick. A familiar name, and not someone who would scare off moderates and Republicans wanting to not vote for Trump.
The right has tried to paint Biden as more to the left of Obama. When Obama picked him as Veep, he was clearly the blue dog moderate choice. And suddenly he's this raging socialist. I mean, they painted Obama as ultra left, and the ultra left of the party wasn't even happy with Obama either.
The right just always moves the goalposts to whatever is convenient for them.
