Georgia Senate Runoff

You also have to have it to buy tobacco, alcohol, lottery tickets, Sudafed, pay with a check, cash a check, fly on a plane, pick up mail at the post office... there are reasonable expectations we can make of adults. Getting an ID once every few years to do these things is a reasonable expectation.

This. My point earlier was voting is easier than buying cold medicine. I don't think you can claim suppression when you have to jump through more hoops to get sudafed than to choose the president.

If you could get an ID at any of those places, you'd have a fair counter point.

Say you live in East Atlanta. You'd have to got Decatur Georgia to get a free voter ID. Same is true if you live say way out in Campbellton, GA, you'd have to travel into downtown Atlanta.

Which isn't the same as going to the town store or bodega around the corner to get essential goods.

If you can't be bothered to get an ID you don't need to be voting. That's not suppression. That's the voter having to give a ****.

So you think black people never leave thier neighborhood? You think they’re to stupid to catch a bus or even know how to drive? Blacks aren’t as stupid or incompetent as you make them out to be.

The black man needs the white man to function KG. This has been the Democrat talking point for decades.

In Campbellton you'd go 15 minutes to the South Fulton government center and get one there.

Not every hoop to jump through equals suppression. If Georgia's voter ID law is suppression then it's incredibly poor suppression.

Yeah if you can't get to a government center easily you don't deserve basic Constitutional Rights. Huzzah!

If you can't run a marathon why should you get unemployment? If you can't be bothered to runa marathon why should you get government benefits.

I don't believe I said that anywhere? Stop projecting your beliefs on me buddy.

Comparing getting on a bus to running a marathon is pathetic.

You need an ID to participate in all parts of society to prove your legal in doing whatever activity it is. Voting for the President, and other positions, should be no different.

Again, if someone cares enough to vote in the election they should find a way to get an ID. Just as they would if they care enough to go to a bar and drink or whatever their adult vice is.

Both parties are pressuring Facebook and Google to lift their post election ban on political ads. Facebook has already announced that their restrictions will last until at least mid December. I like not seeing them.

I come check in on a thread that’s been going on a week(?)that claims voter suppression on the first or second page has gone 6 or more with no more supporting evidence of it than the claim of “there just is”.

I think we can move on now.

You must not know thethe. Even after all voter fraud hoaxes are disproven he still wont admit they were hoaxes. He is like the Charlie Brown trying to kick a football of fake news. Over and over and over and over and over.... and then he still doesnt admit he was wrong. He will be claiming Trump won in 2020 till the day he dies.

Granted this isn't the case because of family living nearby and being relatively well off. But my grandmother has Parkinson's. She can't drive, can't walk much, etc. Should she not be able to vote if she's bound to her house?

Or let's throw another scenario, voter rolls are purged. My grandmother (who's since passed) spent the last 2 years of her life bed ridden. Only moved or transported by medical professionals. She doesn't have an ID, she's lived in the same house for 60 years or so. Why should she not be allowed to vote by mail?

Most DMV's will send an agent in these situations to get the person a State ID. Will need certain documents obviously but it's for homebound citizens. Then after that they can request a mail in ballot.

1 ) Interesting use of desired effect of voter suppression to defend voter suppression.
Voter ID is one form

2) In case people have been asleep, Georgia through get out thr vote and massive registration drives has this time overcome generations of institutional tamping down the vote.
If I'm not mistaken Sam Nunn was last (D) Senator. Both seats are very possible.
Does (R) have to rely on driver networks to get their voters to the polls

3) Ease of voting. Time restrictions and polling stations. It is no secret higher turn out is not in the current administrations favor. It is also no secret that the powers that be are not scared of limiting polling stations or even eliminating polling stations.
Or limiting time access to vote. See (D) gains due to mail and absentee voting. Also see the lines and wait times.

4) Intimidation. Period
.;;;;;;;;;;;;
4) What (D) learned this time is pure numbers. People want (D) policies , polling tells us all that, Kemp etal can read too.
The old aciom , when you cant win on policy you argue the politics. When you still csnt win attact the personal.

5) It is more and more clear that it is the vote and getting out the vote that will combat generations of voter suppression in confederate states
