We were always in agreement, just not on who was doing the attacking. We only have the right to be free from government restricting free speech. I am a believer as Ron Paul is that no business should be obligated to do business with anyone. Even in the extreme circumstances that someone wants a whites only business. Now I certainly wouldnt patronize a business that does that but no one should be forced to do business with anyone.

A society that doesn't value and protect free speech doesn't have free speech.

If I have to self censor (which I do at work constantly), then we don't really have free speech.

Saying all lives matter shouldn't get someone fired and yet here we are...

I appreciate your examples and agree many of them are inappropriate. My views on this subject are pretty straightforward
 
You all are actively cheering on your political opponents getting banned from popular and massive communication platforms. And now there is a coordinated effort to stop alternative options.

It is weird to me that this is even debatable but yall have gone full marxist and can't see past the ecstasy of "orange man gone"

Yeah.

Last I checked, Ted Cruz, Rubio, Hawley, Jim Jordan, Devin Nunez, Sarah Palin, etc. all still had their twitter accounts accessible.

Trump just profited half a billion from donations on fighting "election fraud", that of which he only spent less than 10 million on actual lawsuits. He'll be fine, and have more than enough money to jumpstart his own platform for him to vent and rally his troops.

But as Howard Stern said, the people who he has fighting for him, are the same people he thinks very little of and thinks are disgusting. People he wouldn't even allow into his own hotels.

Just such a rich irony.

Parler's website is still available. People can go post on stormfront if they want as well. Nobody on the right complained when twitter gave Trump free space to spout lies and not even half-truths, but just outright mistruths for years and years and years even before he was President.

It is what it is. I dont tell people I am an atheist who have leverage over me. I dont tell people I smoke pot until they get to know me. I certainly dont give out my views on the police in public. I have however banned people from the businesses I managed on occasion. Off the top of my head I banned one guy for being a literal Nazi and by literal Nazi I mean he had boots that left a red swastika where he walked. I learned of this because he was a friend of an employee. She maintained he was a really nice guy. Still banned him. Another time a black employee overheard extremely racist comments from a customer after they failed to hang up their phone. I cant remember the exact context but it was pretty bad. The left takes it far too far at times but I dont think they do when it comes to Trump.

I support conservative policy so its not about them being political opponents. Its about their rampant corruption, criminality, and willingness to burn the country to the ground so long as they can be king of the ashes. The 4 years of Trump have proven that he is exactly what people thought he was. His followers are just useful idiots. I dont think fascists is the exact right word for Trump but he legitimately tried to end Democracy. Authoritarian. Dictator wannabe. Those fit him perfectly.

By your standard theres never been a society that has free speech. These companies dont want to be associated with Parler. I would argue that is them exercising their free speech. We all have more ability to speak and talk to people than ever before in history. People do also exercise their speech by choosing to give their money to a company that does things they approve of or to not buy from companies who do things they dont approve of.

I can’t for the life of me figure out what they could be “worried” about
