The Coronavirus, not the beer

Deaths in North Dakota in the past week 17.

Deaths in South Dakota in the past week 86.

It is astounding how things have diverged between these two states since the governor of North Dakota imposed a mask mandate in mid-November.

Johnson & Johnson vaccine 66% effective in reducing covid.

Fantastic news. Not as effective as Moderna and Pfizer, but it is a single shot vaccine that is easier to store. They can ramp up production fast, and this will make a yuge difference in terms of getting people vaccinated quickly. Data show it is less effective against the South African strain. In large trials, it was 72% effective in the United States, 66% effective in Latin America, and 57% effective in South Africa in preventing moderate to severe illness. Overall it was 85% effective in reducing severe disease.

It is astounding how masks have been useless in your two favorite states.

Your silence on murderer Cuomo is deafening.

You're a fraud... too dumb to be objective in your lust for controlling young people

Go back to bed

NY undercounting deaths by 50%...

What does that do to some of the graphs used in this thread.

In no way shape or for is this a Trump problem so but I’d bet thats where the blame is laid.

As I understand it, deaths in nursing homes have been undercounted.

The other thing I would say is that as the excess mortality become available, those are the ones that are to be relied upon. When people die we do a pretty good job of counting them. There has been a degree of undercounting in every state, some more than others.

Here is a recent update on the excess mortality data.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/01/14/us/covid-19-death-toll.html

Based on the article, the states that have suffered the largest excess mortality rates are:

1. NY 40% (meaning 40% more than a normal year)
2. NJ 34%
3. AZ 29%
4. MS 28%
5. CT 26%
6. SD 25%
7. TX 25%
8. IL 25%
9. LA 24%
10. ND 24%

The states with the lowest excess mortality data:

1. Hawaii 2%
2. Maine 6%
3. West Virginia 9%
4. Oregon 9%
5. Washington state 9%

data are from March to early January for most states

Your unabashed continued support for tyrant Cuomo is admirable in its commitment to patheticness. Despite his killing record, he was a very good tyrant.

I mean Florida has been accused of cooking numbers for months. So who knows.

The vaccine Dark Horse podcasts folks are in the first segment. They say the virus likely did come from a lab and that's why the new strains aren't weaker, which is usually the case. But they don't say China unleashed it on the world on purpose.

Remember how the media treated Tom Cotton for suggesting this?
