He's a decent pitcher. Probably not a high leverage guy anymore, but he's living proof that one can still make a career out of pitching aggressively even without overpowering stuff.

I thought I remembered Alex Gonzalez and Kyle Farnsworth as being part of the deal. Turns out they both were involved in a Collins trade, just in separate trades.

1B/DH type. He'd be a bat-only off the bench for the Braves (unless they move Freeman to 3B--I keed. I keed.). No positional flexibility at all.
 
I've heard from a few folks that AA still expects there to be a DH but I can't imagine he would be waiting for that to grab a bat or two, would he?
 
I think it is pretty clear we are not signing anyone right now. We are letting guys sign with other teams without even trying to get them when they would fit this team. Tells me AA isn’t doing anything right now and is waiting on something else. No idea what. But we are going to spring like this guys. Sit back and let it play out.

I do. That was one of the things I was thinking when I said he was waiting on something. I still think there is a good chance we get it.

If the DH does get announced to stay in the NL, AA could be holding out for JBJ for left field and then Ozuna for DH. That would be great.
