zero out ny city deaths in march and april...and you still have a US covid death rate over 2.5 times Canada's
control for different obesity rates and that gets you to a US death rate still more than twice Canada's
and that still leaves to be considered things that work against Canada such as higher urbanization and a more northerly latitude

it would seem to me logical that the early spread would concentrated among people travelling to and from China...and Canada has very strong demographic, cultural and business ties to China...but since that works against your argument i guess we can dismiss it
any way you cut it or dice it there are strong indications that our policy has been much less effective in preventing spread and saving lives than Canada's
oh and Trudeau as far as I know never recommended that Canadians listen to Dr Stella or any Canadian version of Dr Stella

Based on some quick googling it looks like Canada gets 1/4 of the travelers from China that the US does so when you payer that with density your argument falls short yet again.
