ST 3/25. Smiles on mound, Looks like Opening Day lineup

Trey Harris looked like he pulled a hammy on that 3 error triple and then trying to score on the passed ball. Wonder if he just walks weird.

I'm not too worked up over it, but it is kind of weird that Contreras -- who is still a legitimate prospect -- could actually be the back-up catcher. It would be pretty unusual for a team to keep a hotshot catching prospect on the opening day roster as a back-up, starting once or twice a week to give d'Arnaud a day off. Maybe the idea is to keep him up for a month to give him some playing time during the delay of the minor league season, then send him down once the minors get started.

This is exactly what they will do ... per my uninformed dumbass self

Honestly surprised that Flowers never landed a job this offseason.

Smyly finishes with: 5IP 1H 1BB 6K

Strong outing for him today. I have a feeling he will be a hit or miss guy for us this year. May have a few dominant games with a terrible one mixed in there as well

I bet he is nursed through the regular season with an 80 pitch count limit and skipped once a month. Something like 25 starts and 125 IP so he can be a weapon in October.
