Republican voter suppression...

Delta speaking out against the law but requires a photo ID to attend their shareholder meetings.

What you're seeing is companies giving lip service to the mob to keep from being cancelled. The fact people are threatening boycotts of businesses headquartered in GA is utterly insane.

Tell me all about it.

you have no idea of the messages and emails I’ve been getting.

I realized something this morning that's both sad and funny. One of the things the left wing of the Democratic party gets particularly angry about is the control that corporations exercise over our politics. I can't blame them there. It is a problem.

However, you have a state pass a law that impacts voting and who does these people run to to exercise control over our politics? Corporations.

I think the issue many people have with corporations exercising control over politics isn't the fact that they exercise control. It's the fact that corporations exercise control in a way that runs against the political leanings of these people. When a corporation can be pressured into acting in conformity with these people's political beliefs, it's perfectly fine.

Lol once again the fake news will very quietly get corrected in the background.

But the lies and damage have been done. Pathetic idiots like goldy are convinced this voter suppression bc the TV told him.

In reality, voting access was EXPANDED

But the damage has been done.

The great majority of voters are against the voter suppression acts and for the voter protection bill. The GOP is simply against democracy itself, and thus on the short end of the stick. So many of their positions on current issues are losers.

Guess I'll ask you too.

WHAT IN THIS BILL IS VOTER SUPPRESSION???

That response had nothing to do with what I was saying. I'm just saying it's funny how people engage in hypocrisy here. Corporations shouldn't exercise control over politics except when they do it in a way that I politically agree with. Sad yet totally predictable.

Given my advanced age, my memory is not always reliable. But my recollection is that there was at one time one aspect of the bill being considered that had a disparate impact on minority voters. And that was the curtailment of early voting on Sundays. This provision was not included in the final bill. Your use of the word hypocrisy rang some bells. As I recall some posters here were ok with that particular item. And they were ok with finding ways to reduce the voter participation of voters who voted the wrong way. But maybe my memory is wrong about all this. So I will withhold any charges of hypocrisy, even though I now see some of the same posters saying what's the big deal. It's kinda like having your hand in the cookie jar and then taking it out without removing any cookies when an adult walks into the room. What's the big deal. No cookies were removed!

sturg33 says giving someone 12 days to vote is not voter suppression.

sturg33 also observes that the final bill doesn't even do what you were so concerned about.

so sturg33 continues to ask what in this bill is so terrifying that our dictator president called jim eagle and wants to punish georgia for it?

who says i was talking about you...your reply evidences a guilty conscience

If ANY of you actually had the self respect to come out and say “I didn’t know what was in it, but I echoed talking points I saw in the media and they were again wrong. I don’t see anything that suppresses votes in this bill” it would be refreshing, but you aren’t. Someone in this forum has been tossing around the word “fraud” a lot for being duped on this issue.

This single issue has shown a lot of people care more about internet points than the truth or what’s actually good for people.

Gallup I believe did a poll that said almost 70% of voters wanted reform to make sure elections were legit.

So the majority wanted something done.

“Restrict” lol

This is amazing. Georgia Republicans voted last night to cancel a Delta tax break,
to punish Delta for criticizing their voter suppression bill.

A GOP leader admitted to this motive, saying:

"You don’t feed a dog that bites your hand."

Amazing or politics?

Surprised you are on the side for tax breaks for the largest corporations in the world

Telling

Via something called theplumline so it sounds legit

The hyperbole about the voting law is insane. People are acting like it's a poll tax or something. You can dislike it if you want, but people are acting ridiculous.

Elections have been legit.

Your starting point and that survey gives credence to the big lie
