And his running creates more lanes to throw which should make his passing better. Imagine how awful he'd be if he was immobile like Peyton?

Then he would have been in the pocket for his young career and been a better pocket passer by now. This what-if game is fun!

Yeah, not sure if the "well, if he couldn't run he'd really stink!" argument is productive because, uh, HE CAN RUN.

That's like saying "yeah well, if peyton weren't so smart, he'd wouldn't be as good." Well, yeah...

Kapernick s performance doesn't look to bad now does it?

Kaep's performance was still terrible. How Peyton and the Broncos played doesn't really have any bearing on that.

However, Peyton did break the Super Bowl record for completions and Thomas broke the record for completions. They still played bad on offense obviously, but they played bad as a unit. Kaep turned the ball over 3 times in the 4th quarter alone. All of which were mistake made by Kaep and not missed assignments or wrong routes. Just poorly thrown balls and poor ball security from Kaep.

Neutral field with better weapons and Peyton played worse than Kaep. End of story. Peyton choked big time. Kaeps performance exceeded Mannings and it isn't even close.

LMAO, no he didn't. Peyton had:

Same amount of total yardage (280 passing, compared to 283 running and passing for Kaep)
Same amount of TD (1)
Same TO's (3)
Most completions in a Super Bowl game in history compared to Most rushing yards in Conference Champ for a QB

How did Kaep have a better game in the NFC champ?

Peytons stats were in garbage time. Seattle let them throw 3 yard passes all day. Peyton played on a neutral field with better weapons.

How did Kaep NOT have a better game?

Peyton was worse but i dont see how it really matters.

I'm just trolling. I didn't think anyone would actually say Peyton had a better game. Figured it was pretty clear. Peyton is one of the top 10 QB's to ever play but that was arguably the worst superbowl performance by a QB and a team of all time.

Peyton with a 98 DYAR, Kaepernick with his rushing had -12.

So yeah.

Again, garbage time stats big time. Seattle laughed at all the 3 yard plays that they ran. YAY for DYAR! I love you use that stat when it works for your premise. We all do that.

False, all but 3 of Peyton's completions (including his lone TD) came before 3rd quarter. But thanks for showing me you don't remember anything from the game.

Kaep didn't do ANYTHING better than Peyton but somehow he had a better game?

They both performed equally terrible. Luckily for Kaep, he had a good defense that kept the Seahawks from scoring for awhile.

His TD was before the third quarter? You sure about that?

1 minor difference, Kaep had one hell of a defense behind him, Peyton had one hellishly disinterested defense behind him.

Seattle didn't really even tear up the Denver defense. The offense (Peyton) sucked so bad that they kept giving Seattle ridiculous field position.

DYAR weighs in situations. Peyton was fine offensively, it was their defense being the reason they lost. Peyton could have played better, but it's like the Falcons/Niners game last year. Ryan was near perfect and killed it offensively, but his defense couldn't stop the Niners so he had to play perfect to win. Same would have been true of Peyton.

The offense kept putting the defense in horrible spots. Nobody was saying anything about the Denver defense during the yaer? Why is that? Because Peyton was controlling the ball and scoring points. When you are Peyton Manning you take complete ownership of the teams performance. He calls all the plays at the LOS so the result of the offenses performance is reflected on him and the effect quick possessions and bad field position also fall on him.

Manning made 1 mistake all game, 2 if you consider holding the second pick too long. Aside from that he didn't make many mistakes. The Thomas fumble wasn't his fault, many of the failed conversions were either great defensive plays or just crud luck (like hitting someone's finger)

Sorry, before the end of the 3rd quarter was what I was trying to say. But you get the point.

Kaep eff ups were legitimately his fault. Peyton got hit while throwing the ball on 2 of his TO's (the 2nd int and the fumble). His fumble should probably have been called an incomplete pass, but it was 4th down anyways and not worth reviewing.

They both played equally terrible. As both ended up with 1 score and 3 TO's. Luckily for Kaep, he had a good defense that kept the Seahawks from scoring for awhile.

Manning was skiddish all game. His feet were moving just like they used to move against New England back in the day. He missed Welker deep wide open on one play and I'm sure he missed other plays like every QB in the NFL does.

I just find it funny that people were making fun of Kaeps performance (rightfully so) and yet for some reason Manning is getting a pass on here when he played the same team on a neutral field with better weapons. But thats fine...we can continue the same narrative.

It was garbage time. He touched the football in the third quarter when they were down 29-0. After that it was all garbage time. The point is that Manning accumulated his "stats" when the game was decided. Every play Kaep made was with the game in the balance and he almost (doesn't count) beat Seattle in Seattle on a last minute drive. He was moving the ball in chunks against the team at that point as well.
