I'm one of the mob. A black man who can't take or will take the bs anymore. My brother is a high ranking law enforcement agent as are members of my family. Not one tried to excuse away the actions of Chauvin like a few self indulged genuises on the board(namely thethe).
The only difference I have is that I haven't rioted or looted to get my point across. I don't scream racism at every turn. But race is a factor a lot. Perhaps it's too easy to use it so it diminishes real racism. But it's alive and well. Cowards hiding behind keyboards and protection seem to have the loudest mouths. My parents went through worse situations than I have but in 2021 some of those issues are still being talked about? Chauvin was guilty. I don't care how you defend him. To the thethe's of the board, let me kneel on your....'Shoulder' for over 9 minutes and see how you like it.

I believe the issue is incompetent cops, as more unarmed white people are killed than black people. This point to incompetence more than racism, IMO

Most of the police I have dealt with in GA are POC and all have seemed to do a great job. Maybe that’s just how it is in the south? (Shoots finger pistols in the air like a redneck)
I don’t blame you for the anger, but statistically there are larger issues that need to be tackled to make a larger impact. BoB crime is astronomical, and Black on Asian crime is a thing now apparently.
I don’t blame anyone for being angry and applaud your handling of your feelings. Most are not adults and able to act accordingly. I have zero respect for someone that loots and burns without remorse the way these people do.

Not fact. Hidden meaning behind his "blacks are capable" crap means nothing. I've never met a black person in my life that didn't think they could do everything a white person does, didn't have an ID or didn't have a decent job. I was born in 'the hood' and we didn't sit around worrying about white people. Oops...perhaps I was one of the few raised right.

I agree. I see the stats from my brother. I also get to see that white people get killed too. The disturbing part for ME is the growing number of supremacists who have infiltrated the military and law enforcement. I work with them too. Blacks have always distrusted police. When there is sensationalism attached to the death of another black person if is exacerbated. I get all of that.
Even throughout my posts on this board and recently here, you've never seen me use racism as a debate winner. Chauvin was a dumb egotistical cop who was found guilty. There will always be poor decisions in a tense situation that cops typically find themselves in. Some of the body cams are disturbing but they aren't all racist in nature. I also know that.

Black on black crime is inherently a black community issue though. Believe me I die on that hill for my community every single day. The black community IMHO should not be looking for the white community to help them with that. Even with that, my friends, family, their children have never depended on programs for financial help (until covid that is), they respect even if they don't trust the police. (My son...brother..brother in laws..cousins all in law enforcement).
Perhaps it's circumstance but I find it amazing a guy can mass shoot up a church and they take him to burger king on the way to jail after arresting him peacefully, but selling cigarettes on the sidewalk can result in you losing your life. There are systemic training issues and accountability that need to be resolved. I think those are reasonable and should be expected for those who Protect and Serve. That's not racism that's the same opportunity to served by police for ALL citizens.
