I'm glad to see the story was false, and I will certainly be more skeptical of that reporter in the future. Based on her resignation story, I expect to see her at a "mainstream" outlet very soon.
I would say the problem lies primarily in this instance with the people at the NY Post who ordered her to write a story that they knew was false and misleading. Her resignation speaks well for her integrity. The job market for former NY Post reporters is not normally a scintillating one, though a few have at times broken through to more respectable news organizations.
I find the fact that Harris wrote a cheesy children's book with a cartoon picture of herself featured prominently on the cover to be damning enough for Harris. What is it about politicians doing that? Do they not realize how narcissistic it looks?
So you're not skeptical of the story from her now, because it makes you feel good about the slant of news you like to consume?
It reflects poorly on her that she allowed herself to "follow orders" in writing the story. It reflects well on her that after thinking about it she resigned. Just calling em as I sees em. Sorry if this makes me appear to be a partisan hack.
I hope she finds a job. NY Post reporters typically don't catch on with real news organizations. There have been a few exceptions.
Does it reflect poorly on those who now assume that her explanation is the truth, despite it being exactly what those other "news" organizations want to hear, and coming just after holes were poked in her story?

Sorry, this was at me.
Might want to direct this one at someone else who values anything they have produced.
