I don't actually feel like it's all that uncommon for teams who have legitimate World Series talent. I believe the Dodgers fired Mattingly after three straight division titles. Nats fired Baker after two division titles in two years. Red Sox ditched Farrell after consecutive division titles. Yankees fired Girardi after a Game 7 ALCS loss. You can't afford to waste a contention window like the Braves are in with a manager who has clearly demonstrated ineptitude. As we're seeing this year with six one-run losses and being 0-7 in games that were tied in the 8th, the margins are too thin to leave anything on the table.
