Fixing the Braves

Another Braves forum is making a bit of noise attributed to a twitter account associated with the Athletic. Saying a move is going on to bring Donaldson back to Atlanta. Wonder if 50 Pound knows anything

Lmao. I’ve joked around about that, but it makes no sense from a money and commitment standpoint.

Funny. His xWOBA is in line with what he's done the majority of his career since he broke out.

Twins would need to eat a ton of money.

that is addressed along with Ender et al going the other way. Im just sharing not advocating or even think it is realistic.

Yep. If he had, say, another year left on his deal, I’d gladly take the risk. But I believe he has another 3 years after this. No thanks.

Well, I know some things, but not much about the Twins. Donaldson was injured at the beginning of the season and has kind of been inconsistent since returning. He was really scorching the first ten days of June and has hit 5 HRs this month. He's owed $50 MM after this season (approximately $21 MM in 2022 and 2023 with at least an $8 MM buyout for 2024) and I find it hard to believe the Braves would spring for a considerable chunk of that.

Twins have really sucked this season and there's talk of everybody with an expiring contract (Pineda, Simmons, Cruz, Shoemaker, Robles, Happ) being moved, but I haven't heard anything about Donaldson (not that I've been listening that closely).

Twins are stuck in no-man's land just like the Braves are.
