GDT 6/29 - you know, maybe that’s ok around here still?

Looks like baseball purgatory to me - not good enough to really win (which includes overcoming managerial deficiencies) and not bad enough to throw in the towel and rebuild again. And we're not even to the end of and ultimate re-signing of Freddie Freeman yet. Going to mess around and waste what was a brilliant set of moves in tying up Acuna and Albies. Who would have thought.

Someone might want to look at the LA Angels. They at least spend money, but not very wisely. And they've essentially wasted the best years of the best player in the last 50 years. And it's not going to get better for them. They'll ride Trout straight into his retirement without ever winning anything.

Everybody got a taste of a little Braves fools gold and are now suddenly surprised. It's easy to win when things go right. Hell, even the KC Royals won a WS with one of the weakest teams to do it in 50 years. That didn't mean they would be good for an extended period. A team needs to reach it's high water mark of WS contender with plenty left in the tank to keep it there. Or else, find itself locked into a thrashing attempt to keep its head above water before ultimately going down for the third time and dying. Problem is, some refuse to even acknowledge that they are dead and continue on with the whole - if we could just get x and a little luck....

This group is pretty much a repeat of the '84 Braves. Not bad, not good, just stuck. Duvall is Brett Butler 2021.

At the game -gross

Sorry.

At least I was able to change the channel when Snitker let Morton hit in the 6th - had a queasy feeling all night before that and realized why when that happened. Didn't even watch until he got in trouble when he went back out there.

On the plus side, Ferris Bueller was on!!!

I watched the Hawks. Love that team. Entertaining. Watched the Braves meltdown during halftime. Not so entertaining.

Not an NBA fan at all - haven't watched a game since Jordan retired.

Was willing to adjust to the "new baseball" - not interested in the changes when it comes to basketball, only watch when the Heels play.

Yeah. I can see that. But having played the big three, one at a high level and being forced to watch Tree Rollins and Dan Roundfield (it was awesome taking pics as a kid with them), I can't stop. Game is much more pansy-esque but what isn't these days. Lol.

We just need to replace Snit and this team will go on a run.

Make Wash the interim and he'll share that energetic magic pixie dust with everyone.

I don't think Wash is the long-term answer and we might have the same frustrations with him that we have with Snit, but this just makes too much sense not to do it as at least a way to change the mojo. You have an experienced manager on staff (two including Weiss), and this team hasn't been able to get itself out of a funk for bordering on half of a season. By the grace of the NL East, we still have a chance, but we are running out of time to shake things up. It's going to be incredibly frustrating to see Snitker get fired when we are 15 games out in August only to go on a tear down the stretch and lose the division by 4 games.

This is funny for 2 reasons...

1. You predictably coming out of the woodwork during a bad season after being silent during the great season last year.

2. You still acting like whatever the Braves would have gotten in exchange for Freeman would make the team better than it is now minus an MVP caliber hitter.

Just watched the missed strike call to Pillar.

My question is: why in the world is Contreras popping up out of his crouch for a pump fake to first rather than framing the pitch properly in a 2-2 count?

He definitely has some defensive issues to iron out back there.

This is still the dumbest baseball take on this board. And there are some doozies out there.

I suppose you also foresaw a laundry list of injuries to our pitching staff, as well as our cleanup hitter dislocating his pinky then getting arrested for domestic battery a few days later.

Despite this, we're still one hot stretch away from leading the division.
