HR Derby

It was on in the restaurant I was in. Pretty cool battle between showee and old man soto. Sort of cool watching a huge group stand around bar to watch that battle. It was fun.

The HR Derby is as meaningless as the Dunk Contest. Hey Pete, how many HRs do you have this year?

17 and on a first place team.

Another cool fact. Alonso's salary since joining the Mets has been roughly 1.17 million. He's made 2 million from winning the HR Derby twice.

Yeah, I felt kind of bad for him last year when it looked like he might wash out after being the face of their team for a year. Although I guess I wasn't thinking about his signing bonus, which was 900K.

Pete's interview after the derby win lost my fanship. I can't like a guy when he brags about himself while holding the the trophy. That silly looking necklace suits him. Although I know he's better than this, but 17 HRs doesn't make him the best power hitter in the game. It puts him on the 2nd page of HR leaders and tied with Trea Turner.

He may be the best power hitter in the game when he is being soft tossed meatballs down broadway. Let's see him do that against DeGrom.
