Liked a lot of what he did in Presidency
Hated his opposition
Voted for Trump as a lesser of two evils as I'd been lectured to do for a decade

An immoral, narcissist, egomaniac, pathological liar with less than average intelligence, and still was the best President of my lifetime on policy and had the best political instincts of any Pub to run for President since Reagan.
If Mitch can limit the damage done by Malleable Joe for the next 18 months and a New Republican more personable than Trump can win in 2024, we could slow America's decline significantly.

there is a large and ever growing volume of interviews and books by various people who have worked for him...they are almost uniform in depicting a deranged nutjob...the people who worked for him saw their job as preventing him from doing crazy, incompetent and often illegal things...it is what it is...the emperor has no clothes

Maybe having all of government trying to act as "guardrails" for the President is a good thing, because his administration was certainly less damaging than most. I guess the alternative is that he was either very good or very lucky on his hires.
Regardless, we're now seeing the damage an empty headed puppet President can do when Wall Street, Xi, and the social progs have their hands up his hindquarters.
Aside from Desantis and probably Cotton you just want controlled opposition.
Weak people will not be tolerated moving forward.

I have been radicalized in the sense that I realized that most of the GOP think the guy is terrific. Why would I want to be part of that. The good news is there is only one person as crazy as he is. Even someone like Palin is brilliant, rational and stable in comparison. As I said, my bar is very low. That allows room for some optimism about the future of the GOP and the country. If you expect nothing, the surprises will be positive.

You can have positions without liking the people that share them. Heck, I like the same baseball team as Enscheff and 57.

I'm a Democrat today because it became clear to me most of the GOP loved very poorly chosen one. He remains wildly popular in the party. Why would I want to be part of that.
And I pretty much got what I wanted in the primaries. I wanted someone in the Biden/Klobuchar lane to get nominated. I didn't want someone from the Warren/Sanders lane. So I have no complaints.
