Reports: Marcell Ozuna Arrested For Domestic Battery

Who will get the longest suspension, Bauer or Ozuna?

From the reports the girl didn’t consent to anal sex and when she woke up from him punching her in the head and knocking her out repeatedly that’s what was happening. She went to the hospital afterwards so couldn’t they claim rape in some way? Who knows man but it’s ugly for both guys.

Damn

So it's been over 8 weeks since the injury now, and the initial timeline we were given said 6 weeks. Obviously don't expect Ozuna back, but it would be nice to get some clarity from MLB here, possibly even restricted list so we can start recouping some of the salary.

Just spitballing here and I'm not sure how Ozuna's contract is written. But a lot of the insurance on contracts require the player to be out 60-90 days before they actually kick in. Which makes sense. Your not going to try and claim insurance on a guy that misses two weeks or whatever. So if the Braves are going to try to get a portion of that money back then they would want Ozuna to reach that limit on the DL before any other action is done.

That could be a potential reason or totally off base.

I guess I was more so referring to the restricted list, which MLB could place the player on and we wouldn't have to pay.

I'm not sure how far the Braves could extend Ozuna on the DL and still try to claim insurance on it. The initial injury timeline I believe was 6-8 weeks, and I'm sure an insurance company would be aware of that.

True. I suspect the Braves do have direction from MLB though even though it hasn't been made public.

I just hope we’re making a baseball decision. If it gets us out of the contract and we want out that’s ok. However if he’s ready to play and we think we’ll end up having to pay he needs to be in the lineup. I know he struggled early this year but we clearly need a right handed power bat. People will moan, but winning puts people in the seats and losing empties them out. Very few people who would have actually attended boycott,

Gonna lump Bauer into this thread since it's relevant. His administrative leave got extended to Aug 6th while MLB continues their investigation. Bauer is still getting paid.
