GDT 8/8/21: Gnats @ Braves - Intresting Lineup

This team really ****ing pisses me off. Taking everything we’ve got to win a series against a team that was largely blown up 9 days ago.
 
I feel a lot better... I went away and came back and Chavez was struggling... at first I read it as Washington up 5-2... missed Duvall's homer.
 
Chavez's good run is over. We need to realize this, appreciate it, and don't put him in a game we lead that's contested
 
I know Corbin helped the Nats win the World Series and flags fly forever, but man that contract is not ending well. Still 3 more years after this one.
 
Stupid shift got the last out of that inning and killed a rally. I hate those nerds telling real baseballers where to play.
 
Good to see Freddie well enough to get back in there. Good job by Rich Rod to get out of that mess. He's been really solid thus far.

We can’t bring our top guys in every game that we have a four run lead late. He’s been due a rough outing but he should be expected to keep it in line against a bad team.

Well, at least Nats fans can stare at that flag while they watch the Nats suck.

Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy watching competitive baseball
 
When the Nats suck, we struggle against them. When they’re good, we own them. It’s just the laws of the universe at play.

Chavez has pitched 5 times in august. Maybe we get rid of greene (0 outings in august), and bring up a serviceable reliever.... like minter?

I'm with you on that philosophy. Even though the Nats owners are super rich, they are in for a pretty decent rebuild. Their minor league system is rated one of the worst, although they picked up a few good prospects at the trade deadline.
