Operationally this is bad, but it is an indictment on state building more than anything else. Afghan security forces didn’t lose, they never fought. I guess the question is whether we would stay forever because Afghanistan would never change. Maybe we could have put ina military government, but democratic government failed. We gave state building and self determination every opportunity.
Definitely an indictment on state building but we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Leaving potentially over 10k Americans behind enemy lines is grounds for immediate removal.
