"And while the lamestream media remains quiet on this issue, conservative blogs are on it, and the concern reached a fever pitch on Thursday. The Right Scoop called it "chilling," and was very skeptical of the government's intentions. "The possibility of the FCC even suggesting topics for media news coverage is chilling," noted PJ Media. "The title of this Big Brother-ish effort by the Federal Communications Commission sounds innocuous enough," Howard Kurtz wrote at Fox News, "but it’s a Trojan horse that puts federal officials in the newsroom, precisely where they shouldn’t be."

big yawn

the news stations are a joke anyway and nothing but a mouth piece for gov't and the 2 parties anyway

they are part of the problem

I think it's pretty sad how the supposed supporters of civil liberty are rationalizing this away like it's no big deal. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go to another political board I frequent and defend the Patriot Act.

Sad but not surprising, defending someone else's freedoms is only fun if it happens to be someone they agree with, after look at how they defended the Duck dude...(and no I'm not talking about the network's right to fire him, I'm talking about his right to speak his mind, for my 1st amendment champion friends).

I would say it is a big deal if I didn't believe the news channels weren't in bed with the govt and just as much a part of the problem

But if you want to pretend they aren't. So be it

That's putting a lot of faith in your belief. Have you always been this religious?

The News brought to you by Comcast. Oh Great Comcast. We can trust you.

no doubt

oh no

the big corporations that are in bed with the gov't are going to be monitored by the gov't

whatever the "scare" of this was much to do about nothing since they are not going to do the survey

Doesn't big gov believing they have a need to post fcc monitors contradict your invented rationalization? Or are you going to stubbornly hold onto your faith in this rationalization despite this contradiction?
