The Coronavirus, not the beer

It is nice to live in a country where the old lecturer - whose judgement is so bad he attacked a 16 year old kid for standing silently - can use his horrible judgement to mandate kids into taking whatever medicine he might decide or else be relegated to 2nd class citizens.

I am for the vaccine but his horrible judgement on everything is probably the best reason to doubt it that I've seen

Dude, school districts have been requiring vaccines for a very long time. It is common sense for a contagious disease.

Chicken pox vaccines are required, even though chicken pox is not terribly dangerous in school age children. But the mandate has reduced chicken pox related illnesses and deaths among other vulnerable populations such as babies under age 1 and pregnant women. That's the whole idea behind acting in a socially responsible manner. If people don't want to act in a socially responsible manner that's their choice. And society can tell them to **** off as far as going to school goes or serving in the military.

Why is that the party of tolerance and love are always the ones who wish for and cheer on death of people they dont agree with politically

I'm pretty sure Runnin was posting the guy's picture as a way of expressing his support for people's right to suicide by covid.

At least 5 people on this board have posted the desire or satisfaction of people with the wrong politics to be dead

Maybe yall should consider if you are the bad guys

Remember comparing today's events to historical ones is not allowed.

But the left has made clear they have no issues with this

Can’t wait to see what the army and schools look like after responsible people and parents who can do their own research don’t engage in these failing institutions.

After what we have seen in Afghanistan and our schools recently society will change their tone real fast on what is mandated.

Sure. Those of us advocating for mitigation measures to reduce the spread of a serious disease are the ones doing somersaults when someone dies.

it must be an uncomfortable thing to see people dying in part because of deza that one is helping to disseminate

"vaccinated people are infecting vaccinated people"

"the vaccine is very likely the cause of the new variants"

POTUS pressuring the CDC to push boosters of a vaccine that the FDA has yet to approve.

And people wonder why I’m a libertarian…

As I understand it the administration doesn't want to wait until the FDA conducts its usual lengthy and comprehensive double blind trials on the efficacy of boosters. It seems to be relying in part on data from Israel and saying that waiting in the midst of a public health emergency might not be such a good idea. Funny that I seem to recall you making a similar argument with respect to full regulatory approval. In effect not waiting to dot all the i's and cross all the t's in a public health emergency when a good bit of evidence exists on the need for a booster. Dr. Gounder is advocating for sticking to the slow regulatory approach you have elsewhere deplored.

Btw I've seen a better more sophisticated argument against boosters, which is that you get a better bang for the buck by disseminating vaccines to poor countries and helping to hold down infectious spread on a global basis. While I appreciate the logic behind it, that argument is a very tough sell politically. Grandma and grandpa dying so we can protect some farmer in Kenya. The headline writes itself.

You’re not misremembering…I have little use for the FDA, which is why I received my vaccine before waiting for them to approve it.

My comment is more just looking at this from 20,000 feet and appreciating the ridiculousness of it all.

I think the debate over boosters is one that has some good arguments on both sides. I'd be more aggressive on disseminating vaccines to poor countries. But I see the political downside to that.

You are right I don't agree with that scumbag. I do think it's apropos that he died of Covid since he has himself spread so much misinformation that is causing the unnecessary suffering of others. MF today is a term of endearment, but I'm not sure he deserves it.

You are probably one of the bad guys
