The Coronavirus, not the beer

ten years from now these technological breakthroughs (including the covid vaccines) will be widely accepted and everyone will be wondering what the fuss was all about

People who refuse to comply with a federal mandate that requires them to wear masks in airports, and on trains, buses and in other public transportation settings will face stiffer penalties, Biden administration officials announced Thursday.

Beginning Friday, the fine for refusing to wear a mask will increase to a range of $500 to $1,000 for first offenders. Penalties for a second offense will range from $1,000 to $3,000.

my guess is, like speed limits in school zones, turn signals and seat belts, I will forget and start getting hopefully only warnings.
Changing behaviors is hard
....

I was thinking the other day about the campaign in the early 60's to clean up. No Littering.
Maybe Oklahoma remembers what a trash pile we used to live in.
Now driving down the Interstate it is rare to see any trash along the roads

so will those who make the choice not to vaccinate also agree not to bill the rest of us for their hospitalization if they get sick or to accept disability benefits if they get long covid or otherwise become disabled...that would seem to be the right move for those who believe in taking personal responsibility for the choices they make

how about picking up dog poop...once upon a time it was just accepted you could leave it on your neighbor's yard or sidewalk

If they have insurance like is required by ACA, then you wont' have to foot the bill.

And only if the fat folks get held to the same standard. Seems fair. Not a tax, but the bill.

remember i'm the one advocating for taxing junk food as a means of allowing society to recoup the costs imposed by unhealthy eating habits

people should be free to eat what they want as long as society is compensated for the costs entailed in some of those choices

ditto a tax on the unvaccinated or alternatively a bonus for getting the shot

i would have thought that as a staunch believer in people taking responsibility for the consequences of their actions that you would enthusiastically support my idea that those who choose to go unvaccinated should be responsible enough not to pass on the costs of their choices to the rest of society

The government mandated everyone has private insurance plans. Member ?

Taxes on junk food don’t go to healthcare providers.

individual mandate no longer exists

nice try...

i'm surprised you are making stuff up to try to find a loophole that would allow people to avoid taking personal responsibility for their choices

i guess you are only selectively for individual responsibility
