The Coronavirus, not the beer

But there is a lot of deza out there reinforcing whatever paranoia and stupidity people are predisposed toward.

Agreed, there were people who spent the last 4+ years saying that the Trump campaigned colluded with the Russians.

People are certainly stupid.

Hey I give her credit for at least admitting it rather than going silent and pretending it never happened. Which is what most will do. And will do when Biden tells everyone he’s going to follow the science while he fights with the FDA and CDC on booster guidance.

TDS still strong - folks don'twant to call out govt overreach, missteps, general poor guidance, senseless rules, mandates, mixed messaging, etc, for fear of being associated with Trump (or more locally, thethe)

What's your take on the great booster question.

I think the case for boosters is pretty marginal. The problem is there is a confounding variable, the emergence of delta in Israel coincided with the six month anniversary of a lot of the vaccinations. I think more data is needed to have an accurate evaluation of the extent to which protection from the vaccine wanes. The apparent reduction of protection may be mostly an artifact of the emergence of delta.

Get your vaccines now.

uh oh - Here comes another 'mutation' that explains why the vaccines aren't working the way we promised. Trust us this time....

I also think it’s marginal at this point. I don’t think we should be setting any dates or lines in the sand as long as vaccinated people continue to avoid death and serious illness at such strong rates.

And I’d rather see the rest of the world get their first doses before other already protected people get their 3rd.

There is also the fact that all vaccines elicit a weaker immune response in old people. Not just the covid vaccines. You could make a case for frequent boosters of many vaccines for old people. It is not a straightforward call. My mother did not wait for the FDA. She already got her booster. Side effects were worse than from her first two shots. But one of her friends reported no side effects at all from her booster.

I would say both paranoid and stupid. Yes. What happened with Tuskegee is awful. It requires quite a stretch of paranoia to connect it to the covid vaccine. But there is a lot of deza out there reinforcing whatever paranoia and stupidity people are predisposed toward.

9 months ago you were screaming about a totalitarian coup subversion of democracy. Now it's stupid and paranoid to not trust the government about things they've intentionally lied about in the past as well during the current pandemic?

He still thinks Russia colluded with Trump.

There is no helping him any longer.

And when the truth about the election comes out I think he may have a mental breakdown.

Remember everyone

The society this fake outrage cünt fights for says the business has the right to deny service on them for just being black

There’s no reason to take him serious.

This is a government policy.

Unsurprised to see you are fully on board.

I view January 6 (and the Big Lie campaign associated with it) and the covid vaccines as very different matters. I know it is a controversial take. What can I say. Glad to see whataboutism and dubious equivalencies are alive and well.

Same level of paranoia/stupidity/fear.

You demonstrate all of those.

We've had prominent politicians and "specialists" endorse every side of every possible question on Covid, often with the same specialists and politicians changing sides without data to support the new position.

If you want more people to trust the vaccine, you should be angry at the first people to cast doubts on it. You voted for them.

If you want more people to wear masks, you should be angry with Fauci for telling them not to. You idolize him.

If you want more voluntary testing, you should be disgusted with the CDC. Yet you get angry when their ever changing stances aren't treated as Gospel.

And never forget that the the BLM protests were a necessary public heath crisis that was more important than covid.

Also don't forget that letting hundreds of thousands of migrants crossing the border without vaccination is fine as well.

These people are frauds. They are cowards. They are the dumbest of the dumb.

One of the many instances where public officials undermined their covid messaging and we were supposed to shrug and go along

Some encouraged it.

Saying that there are certain issues that supersede public health.

One of those things apparently wasn't our children.

I've known people who only flew an American flag in their yard when their guy was president, so I'm familiar with where you're coming from.

Our county hospital is turning everyone away due to a lack of space. I've heard of people with chest pains being told to go multiple counties away to be seen. They have Covid patients in hallways because they ran out of room.

96% of the Covid patients and 100% of the recent Covid deaths are unvaccinated. Please get vaccinated.

The vaccine is nothing but a tool to enforce oppression

More of the bull**** 'Overcrowded' hospitals due to COVID.

We are being lied to every single day.

don't mean to stoke discord, but i really enjoy the variety of views in this thread
