Why would it be particularly relevant if the short term decreases are matched by even larger short-term trends that conform with the long-term trends?

I actually find this rather curious. If religion is pretty commonly understood to tell people what is right and wrong, how wouldn’t that translate to political views? Don’t most religions place these leaders in these roles to help interpret and teach the word of God to their congregation? Forgive me if I’m way off base here, but it has always confused me why the church would stay out of state affairs, even if we enforce a strict separation of church and state from the state side.

There's no question that the global warming fear mongering of the past have hurt the credibility of the current arguments. Incidents of recent studies manipulating data to conform to the expected results did more damage. My stance has always been that even if you don't believe climate change is a real problem, you should be in favor of keeping the atmosphere and water as clean as possible. Beside, it's daggum hot enough in Georgia as it is. I don't w to do anything that might make it hotter.

The true believers need to be more pragmatic as well. Tightening environmental standards in reasonably clean countries does nothing at this point but drive more growth to the least eco friendly countries.

They continue to lose credibility when they refuse to make nuclear energy the core of their proposed solutions.

Don't worry... they will all fly their private jets to the climate conference to tell us peasants how we must live. No more meat for us... only bugs

Actions speak louder than words. If the politicians on the far end of the climate disaster spectrum truly believed what they were saying, they wouldn’t be wasting time & political capital on anything else. But they are.

It's just funny that we were non stop lectured to about how we had to return to the decency and norms

And what we've gotten instead is endless lies, unimaginable government overreach, and disasters at nearly every major issue (border, inflation, covid, Afghanistan, supply chains, etc)
