NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THEM.....NO ONE. You're the only person I ever hear bringing them up. Seriously, listen to the NY stations and count how many Net calls they take, if they aren't taking them this year, then when? Because the Nets are going to be horrible for the next 4-5 years.

I've heard Net calls being taken. But again, this is why I said it would take quite a few years. Its not easy to build a fanbase from virtually nothing to a NY powerhouse. Its all going to be about how many new fans can the Nets attract from the Knicks. Again, the people who are born and raised in BK will like the Nets. The call volume will increase for the Nets.

And this year, when the Knicks are sitting home in the playoffs and the Nets rae playing you will hear some calls. And, when the Knicks are horrid again next year (because they will be) and hte Nets are still a playoff team you will hear those calls increase. It takes time.

How many kids grow up in Brookly vs. outside of Brooklyn?

Not sure what you are getting at with this but there are more families in Brooklyn then there are in Manhattan. Manhattan is a very transient place typically occupied by young professionals and business men on temporary travel assignments.

I've spent a ton of time in Battery Park. I think there are plenty of families roaming around.

Of course there will be families but Brooklyn is the area that people move to from the city to raise a family while still being close to their job. That and Long Island and Westchester.

Who cares where people live, 95% of the people that go to Knick games aren't driving.....they are taking the train or subway. So you harping on more people living in BK, means next to nothing.

Everybody I know that lives in NY talk about the Knicks and MSG. I've never run into a New Yorker that actually talks about Brooklyn. They pretty much **** on Brooklyn

The Nets have been in BK for almost two yeras. Of course the dynamic isn't going to change. But, in just those two years they are still getting 95% attendance (not the staggering number that the knicks get) while not having a great team and having no history.

Again, find me where I said that this changing over the fan dynamic in NY would happen in two years. So all this talk about, "Nobody talks about the Nets blah blah blah" is expected.

The Barclays center is as convenient to get to as MSG. Most people aren't driving there as well.

Explain to me how they are going to take over, this was their best chance and they flopped. So you think by them being bad to average the next 4-5 years is going to GAIN them popularity?

HEY GUYS, THE JAGS ARE GOING TO TAKE OVER FL IN 2045! - thethe

Even if they won a NBA title this year they weren't going to "take over". The Knicks have a long history in NY (albeit a very overrated one). Thats going to take years to generate the new generation of fans. But again, you better believe that in 10 years there will be a hell of a lot more fans for the Nets then there are now. Those new Net fans would have been Knick fans 5 years ago.

Angels are taking over LA. Jets are taking over NY. Mets are taking over NY.

Yeah because the Knicks are anywhere close to the storied franchises like the Yankees/Dodgers/Giants.

Knicks are so overrated as a franchise its a joke. They have had one good team for the last 40 years. They have been basically nothing but losers since the mid 70's. The Nets aren't trying to overtake a juggernaut like the Yankees.

We could talk about how Thibs keeps on screwing your team by being such a damn good coach!

At least the Bobcats are doing their part to ensure the Bulls nab a second first-rounder this year. In fact, since it's only top-ten protected, right now the Bobcats are almost playing too well.

So when are you going to learn that it's not all about wins and losses? The Knicks are a storied franchise because of where they are located. The Nets could win the next 3 titles and people are still going to be talking about the Knicks.

NY is a basketball city, not baseball.....like giles said, it's not about wins and losses. Knicks in the NBA finals > Yankees in the WS

thethe basically proved his theory wrong by talking about how bad the Knicks have been while they are still the biggest game in town.

They were the only game in town for decades. Of course at this time they are going to be the big draw. Lets see what happens in a few yerars.

I think NY is sufficiently an all sport town. Knicks had a monopoly on the fans for decades.
