I might need to fly in this weekend
Man I would want to. Just checked the schedule again and the Braves are coming to Dallas at the end of April and I'm already going to those. Might be hard to justify both sets of games to my wife. lol
I might need to fly in this weekend
Happy to clarify. Making all the defensive plays you need, to me, means being at or above replacement level on defense. Dansby has 2 seasons of dWAR above 0.4 (1.6 and 1.4). Blauser had 4 seasons of dWAR above 0.4 (0.6 (twice), 0.9 and 1.4). Blauser played essentially 10 seasons in ATL (1st two were cups of coffee), while Dansby has played 6 (the first one being a cup of coffee). Dnasby is the better defender, but the gap isn't as great as you'd think. After Belliard was signed, Blauser turned in positive dWAR in 5 of 6 seasons and four of those seasons were above 0.4. Dansby was 0.3 this year.
Dansby is very Jeter like at SS. Consistent and makes routine plays look flashy which earns him a lot of praise on a broadcast, but probably not a huge difference maker. (Well to be fair to Dansby, Jeter had the range of a fire hydrant at SS. Bae can steal a hit here and there).Thats not really how to use dWAR. Freddie is an above average 1B by the metrics, but that comes out to -8.0 dWAR due to position adjustments. It doesn’t mean he’s “below replacement level on D,” it’s just a tool to compare defensive value across positions. Replacement level on D is also set at league average for dWAR (because you can find freely available average defensive players who can hit at replacement level). A replacement level SS is gonna have like .7-1.0 dWAR per season. A replacement level 1B is gonna have like -0.8 dWAR. Dansby being at +.3 indicates he gave back basically half a run on D. Freddie being at -0.7 meaning he was slightly better than average.
So being at 0 dWAR as a shortstop means you gave back all the positional value of being a shortstop through shoddy D. Blauser being at basically 0 dWAR over 11 seasons vs. Dansby being at ~4 over six seasons is a significant difference.

I could use some help. I want to get an actual or print version of the front page of today's Atlanta Journal Constitution, but I can't seem to find that online anywhere. Do any locals have an idea how I can get that online, or, perhaps can send me the paper? I'd really really appreciate any help!

As an Alabama fan, I’m not sure how to deal with this. Haha!
Be thankful Bo Nix isn't good enough to leave after his junior year... meaning...

Used to be the players voted on who and how much dependent on their perceived contributions. Dont know about now for sure but people like club house attendants, batboys, etc got a share.
My wife actually called the AJC this morning. You can arrange to have a copy shipped to you.
