GDT 11/2/21: Braves @ Astros - World Series Game 6

Ownership seeing this playoff revenue is gonna make the purse strings loosen up

I'm curious how much it will end up being. Players and the teams involved split the ticket revenue. I suspect like in the regular season that all the extra goodies from The Battery helped pad the Braves revenue for their playoff run.

Next year is going to be a such a big blow out of projections.

The year after a world series is always a monster ticket year.

And the battery is still developing!!!

TBH they need more places down there. Its great, but when its packed it fills up. Even the "game day surcharge" doesn't keep folks out. The Dominican place there is EXCELLENT btw.

They basically filled the park last night as well.

You could make a realistic argument that the Braves are in the best position out of any team moving forward the next five years.

Apparel, concessions, etc…and you have to take into consideration they will get more sponsorships and can raise the price on sponsorships along with the bump in season ticket sales that will follow a championship. THe attendance revenue is peanuts compared to the whole picture.

Braves were 2nd in attendance in 2021 thanks in part to the team opening the stadium earlier than most other teams plus their surge in the 2nd half. Hopefully there is more to come in 2022. Would love for the team to crack 3 million fans. Hasn't happened since 2000.

Absolutely it is. Maybe this is where the corporate ownership helps the Braves as it looks like they are able to take the revenue and inject it directly back into the team like they did at the deadline. The Braves are pretty much self governed at this point. Make good decisions and reap the benefits.

One player shouldn't effect rankings like this. But getting Freeman extended should put the Braves at the top of a lot of those lists in the offseason.

I was thinking the same thing. I loved Blauser, but when you sign Rafael Belliard in 1991 to be your everyday SS instead of giving the job to Blauser, it insinuates something about the perception of one's ability on defense.

Happy to clarify. Making all the defensive plays you need, to me, means being at or above replacement level on defense. Dansby has 2 seasons of dWAR above 0.4 (1.6 and 1.4). Blauser had 4 seasons of dWAR above 0.4 (0.6 (twice), 0.9 and 1.4). Blauser played essentially 10 seasons in ATL (1st two were cups of coffee), while Dansby has played 6 (the first one being a cup of coffee). Dnasby is the better defender, but the gap isn't as great as you'd think. After Belliard was signed, Blauser turned in positive dWAR in 5 of 6 seasons and four of those seasons were above 0.4. Dansby was 0.3 this year.

To have a really good argument, don't the Braves need one of Ynoa, Wright or Soroka to become an established part of a big 3 with Fried and Anderson. Two out of those three would be awesome. I fear Soroka is the second coming of Steve Avery.

Our pitching was just insane this postseason.

Even freaking Wright caught the bug and balls out in Game 4.. Should we give credit to TDA on calling the game, or just guys raising their game.

Listening to AA giving an interview on Atlanta sports radio. He confirmed he did test positive for Covid. Also, we're in really, really good hands. He was explaining how they had all the underlying analytics showing Freddie's cold start was just bad luck and how there was no chance of selling as their numbers showed the team was far better than its record.
