Not really. Judges do little informal stuff like that before starting for the day all the time. It would only have been weird if it was tied in to why that guy was there. Just a general acknowledgement of vets doesn't make waves.

A lot of people were upset with the judge for yelling at the prosecutor but every attorney I talked to about it had the same answer "The prosecutor deserved it."
Bringing up the defendant's post-miranda silence was a bad move and this guy knew better. He deserved the judge to get onto him. But the thing that really pissed the judge off and rightly so was when the prosecutor tried to admit evidence in front of the jury that the judge had previously indicated was excluded without advance notice to the court.
Sometimes in a trial the situation changes. Something one of the sides does might open the door to allow evidence in that had previously been excluded. So the prosecutor trying to get the evidence in again is no big deal. The problem is he didn't ask the court before bringing it up in front of the jury. That was a MASSIVE mistake. That prosecutor basically thumbed his nose at the court and the judge came down on him for it.
So the judge hasn't really been out of line on this case. Even preventing those shot from being called "victims" isn't that surprising. Apparently that's a standard rule in his courtroom but it's especially important in this trial as it's a self-defense case. Calling them victims tends to the conclusion that they were innocent and not the aggressors. It's not a big deal but it's something courts will do.
The people who everyone needs to be angry with is the prosecution. Their initial case wasn't great and ended with a disastrous witness. Then yesterday that prosecutor kept doing things to antagonize the judge. The prosecution is really doing its best to get Rittenhouse acquitted.

I'm not angry with any one . Not even the knuckle head that thought he was law enforcement and an EMT. Took an illegally got assault weapon into a volatile situation subsequently shooting / killing 3.

I think the only mistake the judge made in letting this become a circus was allowing cameras in the courtroom. There's no way this isn't a circus with cameras.

Totally disagree. All this stuff needs to be televised to see how spineless these prosecutors are. Without the video evidence of the trial, the same idiots would believe their tv box when it tells them he walked due to racisms and white supremacy

I find this interesting because there's a non-zero chance that these prosecutors are trying to throw this case without looking like they're throwing it. I'm not sure people really understand what went on yesterday. What the prosecutors did was something no experienced trial lawyer would do. Bringing up the defendant's silence would be a rookie mistake. Compound that with trying to introduce excluded evidence in front of the jury without asking the court first is insane. These two things together has me wondering if the prosecution is intentionally tanking. Its been that bad.
I’d be willing to bet that DA is a left wing liberal and wants a guilty verdict so he can run for a higher office, while the prosecutors know it’s a sham case and they want no part of it

Local prosecutors are the most powerful people on the country. They can railroad an innocent person and legalize crime they choose not to prosecute. If the FBI actually did their job they would big these prosecutors when police unions tell them the consequences of prosecuting a guilty cop.
