The Coronavirus, not the beer

There is too much money, and too much deep rooted fear by too many people, for this to go away anytime soon.

My in-laws were in town over the weekend in TX... she couldn't believe how everyone was acting so normally... as if we're not in the middle of a pandemic!

They live in rich people Jersey, of course

I just can't believe the CDC had to admit there is no such thing as reinfection when you're naturally immune.

Weird how people who are vaccinated are getting it again?

A wise man once said that the vaccines are turning otherwise healthy people into CCP virus generating machines.....

No entity had lost more credibility to the American Public more than the CDC save the Executive branch of the US Govt. Absolute clown show.

They don’t even know their own vaccination rates

Yup. I’ll keep banging the drum on the CDC and the FDA. If we were smart, we’d be rethinking those agencies, their missions, and whether they should exist in their current forms.

Living an hour from Dallas. Things have been pretty close to normal for quite some time now. I'm always somewhat surprised when I still see stories from how people are acting in different parts of the country.

I'm in NY and haven't changed a thing.

Some people here look like they've seen a ghost when you aren't wearing a mask.

Its really quite pathetic.

Mississippi is wide open.

NOLA still requiring proof of vaccine or pcr test to dine in and indoors events. They did drop mask mandate

I was in the city all weekend and my impression was that most people are over it. Three separate restaurants I visited didn't bother with the vaccine check. I went to Philly and they were even more lax. Half my subway car going to the Knicks-Sixers didn’t bother masking. The arena said masks required to enter, but most had them off once they were inside. The only place that was still strict was the Amtrak between the cities.

Maybe people are coming around and accepting that these mitigation efforts aren’t all they’ve cracked up to be.

Today they announced they are locking down anyone unvaxxinatewd...

despite the human rights abuse that the covid cowards no doubt support, will be a nice little control group

Yeah, that's not what they admitted at all. If this is what I think you're referring to, they said they're not tracking data on whether unvaccinated people with natural immunity who get reinfected have transmitted it to others. I would suspect they're not tracking that data because it's a pretty silly thing to track. There's no reason to believe you wouldn't shed the virus if you've been reinfected. I'm not sure why Covid would be different than every other coronavirus we know about in that regard.

I'm sure they aren't tracking it. You continue to believe the company line on COVID and I have no clue why.

They absolutely tried but couldn't find anything. You don't think they want to show that you can get reinfected to push down the idea that natural immunity is better?

you're better than this striker.

I don't think it occurred to them to look into whether people who have been reinfected can transmit it because the idea that those naturally immune can get sick and not be contagious is wild. That's not how these diseases, or any disease I know of, works.

If I asked the CDC to provide the number of cases where a Covid infection in a non-vaccinated individual didn't give them super powers, they'd tell me they can provide no such cases as they don't track that data. Why don't they track it? Don't you think being able to conclusively tell people that Covid infections don't give you super powers would encourage people to get the vaccine? They don't go out and track things that have no basis in reality just so they can say conclusively that such a thing does not exist.

I'm just astonished as to why anyone would think a non-vaccinated (or vaccinated person for that matter) wouldn't be contagious the second time they had Covid. If you're sick, the virus has enough of a foothold to shed.

Your analogies get worse and worse.

It is in the CDC's best interest to do this work and especially fits the narrative they are pushing.

They did it but couldn't find a thing.

You keep denying it and thats fine. Maybe one day we will get more leaks to show that its not.

Meanwhile, another fake narrative, LONG COVID, is ending up to be yet another fear porn tactic.

Keep believing them Striker.

You're making some logical jumps here. You're assuming the CDC investigated but couldn't find a thing when they said they don't track such data. You're assuming they did because it fits the narrative you're pushing.

And my analogy is spot on. You're essentially alleging that people who catch covid and who aren't vaccinated get a super power. They have the power to get sick with covid in the future and not spread it. You might as well allege that unvaccinated people who catch Covid gain telepathy or the ability to walk through walls. The ability to get sick with Covid and not spread it is a super power.

The only way you're going to "catch" covid and not spread it is if your body fights off the infection before it has enough of a hold to shed. If you've reached the point of symptomatic, it has enough of a hold to spread.

Can your body fight it off before you start spreading? Absolutely it can. Naturally immune people can do this as can people who have had the vaccine. But if you've caught it and are actually sick with it, you've been shedding whether you're vaccinated or not, whether you're naturally immune or not.

No, I'm saying that once you get immunity you are shielded from reinfection for YEARS.

You are the one who is making an absurd analogy.

But enjoy continuing to get lied to. Do you want to count the lies at this time?

But that's not what the CDC said today. They didn't say they have 0 data on reinfections. The FOIA request I think you're talking about asked for data on the number of people who 1) have never had the vaccine, 2) had covid once and were re-infected, AND 3) transmitted it to others.

That's what the CDC said they had no data on. They didn't say they had no data on re-infections.

Its the same logical conclusion.

Reinfection for naturally immune people does not happen.
