Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Ozuna means no Soler imo. If we have a LHH CF we could put Soler in LF. So the Pirates traded their catcher and don’t have a MLB catcher on there roster now. Hmmmmm

Ozuna probably means no Soler though, yeah. Cant see how we have both on the roster on long-termish deals given how highly AA values defense.

Take this with a grain of salt.

I think Yates is a good option specially if he come back in great shape and Will Smith come back to become regular season Will Smith.
Neris is wild, Ottavino or Tepera they are not 9th inning material. Yates for 6 millions with a second year option and a buy out of 2 millions is not bad at all.

Thanks AA for listen to me!! 😄

I think Matthew Boyd is a under the radar guy we need to keep a eye. He is just 30 years old. We can send him to the minors for a few months to work with him. He can battle for that fifth spot.

Kirby Yates:
The team announced that’ll take the form of a $1MM salary in 2022, a $6MM salary in 2023 and at least a $1.25MM buyout on a 2024 club option valued at $5.75MM.

Is crazy that I say 6 millions with a 2 millions buyout. 😂

The pending work stoppage sucks but the flurry of moves by players wanting to get deals done is exciting.

MLB Free Agency should always be like this. No reason players should be waiting until January/February to sign deals.

If you look at the Pirates positional prospects list and close to major league ready list they are extremely LH dominant.

They need a catcher to provide a 2-3 year stopgap until they get their stud up, and a RH outfielder and infielder.

Their close to ready SP is also RH dominant. Muller and Tucker could slide in to starting roles as easy as Bruce Wilson did.

Would Contreras, Pache, Arcia, Muller, and Tucker be fair for Reynolds?
