Freddy make pitch.
No room for Hudson?![]()
It is amazing the stretch some of you will go to try to bring it back to some argument only you are having.
Garcia 5 innings - 0 ER
Julio 5 innings - 0 ER
Medlen 5 innings - 1 ER
Wood - 2 innings - 0 ER
Beachy - 5 innings - 2 ER
Comes out to a 1.27 ERA for our 5 current projected starters over 22 innings. Yes Minor will take one of their places eventually, likely Wood.
Yes the Giants projected rotation has given up 1 ER over 20 innings. Although I don't know why Vogelsong has yet to start a game but still has 5 innings. Petit, who is likely battling Vogelsong for the 5th spot has given up 7 runs in 2 1/3 innings. But yeah, their rotations is way out performing ours.
Your the one who brought everything up. If Hudson would have signed for 1 year I have no doubts he would still be here. He wanted a two year deal and that's something the Braves didn't want to do and rightfully so.

You forgot Hale's 2 runs. Not that it matters. Our staff is pitching fine, despite Beachy's drop in velocity and Minor's injury.
I didn't even want Hudson back; I just wanted him adequately replaced.
Hale isn't going to start from us out of the gate. Besides if you want to go that route Petit has started 2 games for the Giants this spring and has given up 7 runs. More then everyone who has started for the Braves combined.
Beachys drop in velocity is a concern. Minor I'm not worried about at all.
Hale could certainly start for us if Beachy can't make it to opening day.
Watch and relive the glory of the wizardry and dominance of Freddy Garcia.

At that price, absolutely not.
His price has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the team has room for him in the rotation.
It has everything to do with it when you are a tight budget.
