I’ve been clear that while I recognize and understand biological differences, that society, not biology, has determined how we handle gender. In the absence of a safety concern, I simply don’t care about the sanctity of sports enough to say we shouldn’t allow these individuals to compete with the gender with which they identify. You’ve made your position clear that you can’t distinguish between the biological concept of sex and the social construct of gender.

Yeah - You don't care about actual women being rewarded for hard work.

You've made your position quite clear.

Oh, **** your self-righteous tone. You only care about the issue because there’s a trans person involved.

Bull****.

I loved women my whole life and hope to have the pleasure of having a daughter one day.

Nothing would make me angrier than seeing a mentally deranged boy beating her in a sporting event. So, yes I do care because its a transperson involved. Because its a boy beating a girl and we are supposed to encourage this?

You and your side are morally bankrupt and don't actually care about women.

I mean, its just obvious you have never been really involved in a sport to the point where its basically your whole life.

Correct me if thats off base.

Its just a morally bankrupt position to take.

These women put their all into it. I had a few close friends in High School that played soccer and they were more competitive than the guys.

Soon this will be a reality

I’m not saying the other competitor shouldn’t have an emotional response. But I don’t see why the rest of the world is outraged about that competitor getting 2nd instead of 1st or another getting 3rd instead of 2nd.

HAHAHAHA - Yeah...whats the difference?

Yeah - Not the hopes and dreams of young aspiring women being crushed.

Morally bankrupt position.

I get that this particular swimmer is a fairly unique case, but to be clear, you have no qualms with the hopes and dreams of young trans women (and men) being crushed by not even being allowed to compete as themselves in the first place?

Why can't we just organize sports to xx and xy chromosomes? That way we can not offend the delicate mentally ill people (spoiler, they will get offended about that too)

They should compete at the sex they were born in.

I'm not interested in entertaining someone with a mental disorder.

Does a college swimming event keep you up at night? IsnÂ’t there something more important you could be focused on like inflation?

Jokes aside, it honestly baffles me that the same group of people can get so riled up about Leftists talking about inclusive language or social Justice then follow that up with highlighting such benign issues like a college swim meet. The idea that thereÂ’s a one-sided culture war aggressively being fought by the Left is such a joke.

I remember hearing the same "how does it impact you if a dude uses a women's room," and "critical race theory is just a tool law school students use to examine old laws on the books." The reason we cared about both is because we are quite familiar with the tactic of incrementalism.

Which side has pushed for relabeling the mental illness formerly known as gender dysphoria to transgender? Which side has pushed for that to be a protected class and tossed the T into the alphabet label? Which side pushed for allowing them into bathrooms of their choice, locker rooms of their choice, sports of their choice? For relabeling mother as birthing person?

None of these things were the norm until the Hollywood/academia/media triumvirate pushed for it and leftist politicians legislated it. Absolutely, it was a one sided culture war. Any opposition got the bigot label, doxxing, or cancelling.

And I do have daughters that could be competing for women's scholarships with these men, and who could be alone in a women's locker room with these men.

You would then be saying they aren't a real man/woman and literally killing people.

Progressivism is a mental disease.

We have seen what it does to reasonable people on this board and its a microcosm of whats happening in the whole country.

To be clear, you realize there is no objective right or wrong in these, right? People in the past agreed to these definitions and social norms, and we can collectively change the consensus based on any new data or public perception. None of the things you describe here are based on hard science. It’s true that people are what we recognize as biologically male or biologically female. It is not fundamentally true that based on those facts that they should use a certain bathroom or play for a certain sports team or be labeled as anything. I’m not trying to tell you that you should agree with me on whether or not making those changes are good for our society or even the individual. I do not believe I’ve called you or anybody else a bigot for holding your views. However, I just don’t see how the other side can just definitively say these people are wrong or mentally ill when the basis for believing that is subjective and based on our previous interpretations of the world.
