Spring Training Gamethread/Discussion

I dont' see how it made sense to bring Huddy back personally. By the end of the season I think all five of our starting pitchers are going to be better than him.

It didn't. But it made sense (and does now even more) to adequately replace him.

Great pitching today from just about everyone.

well, except the schlub who blew the 2-0 lead in the 9th. Considering the Nats sent their AAA team I would have like to see us win this one. Oh well, spring games don't matter. If they did Kimbrell would have pitched the 9th.

You can't blame Schlehuber for that. He just calls the pitches.

It's the biggest ST cliche this side of BSOML, but it appears that the pitching really is ahead of the hitting so far.

La Stella reminds me of Matt Carpenter. It would be nice if he bests Uggla and could bat lead off. His OBP would be what this lineup needs. The fact that he's getting the at bats he's getting now tells me he's in the Braves plans this season.

He will be our second baseman by May. Uggla will revert back to what we all expect him to be.

Speaking of, does anyone else think "simplified swing" as officially replaced "Best shape of this career" in the cliché book?

#Braves Wood threw 28 strikes in 39 pitches in his 3 scoreless innings (2 H, 0 BB, 2 K)

Our pitching sucks though.

Great showing by Wood. He is going to be huge for the team if he makes the rotation. Wish we didn't have to wait a few months to see Stella take over second.

Johnson seems to have adjusted something in his swing. Looks more focused on making contact.
