Is the implied claim here that there is no domestic terrorism to monitor, or just that you think it will be used to go after Conservatives? Because there have been multiple domestic terror attacks in the past decade.

That said, everyone on both sides should certainly be vigilant about police/government overreach. If this turns into a way to just label people as terrorists for dissenting, that’s a problem. If they give this unit too broad of powers, that’s a problem. But simply calling to distinguish between domestic and international terrorism isn’t a problem on its own.

Seems the fbi either had a hand in or dropped the ball on most of the domestic terrorism the past ten years.

I think the issue is that whether actions are defined as mostly "fiery, but mostly peaceful, protests" or "insurrection" seems heavily dependent on which side of the political spectrum the hoodlums are on.

They also want to pretend that despite holding countless massive rally’s that trump supporters magically became violent without incitement from the fbi.

Why, exactly? Out of more than 9,000 protests, a grand total of 11 people died during these protests. Of those, maybe 3 could be directly attributed to protestors? You have a point on property damage, but let’s not pretend that the protestors are out here killing people in cold blood.

Do you seriously interpret that as cheering? My point is that the Justice Department already deals with terrorism, and that perhaps it isn’t crazy to have a specific focus on the type of terrorism that’s actually prevalent in the country. Agreeing that domestic terrorism is something to focus on in the context of a broader terrorism team isn’t the same as agreeing that this team should have unconstitutional authority.

Thats because you think the domestic terrorism in this country has not been primarily FBI incited or despite having actionable intelligence they effectively let it happen.
