The Coronavirus, not the beer

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday advised Americans to avoid travel to Canada, citing “very high” levels of the coronavirus.

Canada was placed under a Level 4 travel health notice — the highest category…“Because of the current situation in Canada, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading Covid-19 variants,” the C.D.C. said.

I’ve long since given up on the CDC, but if anyone wants to make sense of this, have at it.

Completely- people were dying in the streets from the latest strain. Just dropping like flies.

Cmon. It’s because it’s weaker. Full stop. The vaccine companies are even sayin their product does help at this point

8 weeks rides waaaaaay back to basically 10 weeks of infection which would be early november/late october when Delta was still primary. Ask the south how deadly Delta variant is.k

Couldn't believe that when I saw it.

Canada is being super strict. Lot of gym owners are going out of business there after all this, and the gov't acknowledges there is no known outbreak activity happening at gyms up there. Super sad.

Was it?

I doubt that. Delta was summer.

By the way- no one knows what variant someone had. You have to wait like 2 weeks for that info to come back if you push it through that far. Most people don't find out.

The way it makes sense is to realize its the CDC that did it.

The persistence of travel barriers/bans has been one of the biggest policy head scratchers for me. In March of 2020, maybe (though it was probably still too little too late), but two years later when the disease is already everywhere, where’s the evidence that these restrictions are doing anything? The travel/tourism sectors suffer, restaurants suffer, the quality of life of people who want to travel suffer…it’s very easy to tally up the cost side of the ledger. And the benefit side is…what?

We have a family of friends here that we usually go out of the country around Feb to escape the cold, short days, no sports doldrums, etc... and no one wants to leave because if you get a positive test you have to spend 10 days in another country. It really stinks. This will be 2 years or more we haven't done anything like that. May try the keys this time.

Here's one detailed study that came out recently from washington state of course all studies are flawed but it's one of many

https://www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Do...ables/420-316-SequencingAndVariantsReport.pdf

Omicron doesn't pop up in the tests until december. Omicron wasn't identified until 11/24 and no other variant dominated after Delta took over.until Omicron.

Whats the physical health situation of united employees that are vaccinated? What was the physical condition of the people who were dying prior to vaccination?

Unless the whole world is willing to isolate for a period of time to contain the virus (which it won't) the virus cannot be contained with any travel bans. If you can't travel to Canada what's stopping someone from say Germany from going to Canada on business flying back home then going to the US later the same week. It also ignores the lag of infection. By the time an outbreak has started more people are already infected just not symptomatic.

Yawn. More thethe non-sequiturs. How surprising. Get a new act.

I understand you despise the truth.

You'd rather live in the world where you still think the CCP virus came from nature and that Hunter Bidens laptop was an elaborate disinformation campaign from Putin.

To each their own I suppose.

Having to sell the leftist narrative is a tough ask, I will admit

It’s incredible what people will believe as long as the government tells them.

It’s obvious that the vaccines are causing massive issues. Soon this will be an acceptable talking point as we run up to the 2022 elections and the left tries to pin it on trump. Then maybe striker will believe it.
