The AG of NY ran on getting Trump even before an investigation was started. This is not an investigation but a fishing expedition to see what they can get. If Trump's personal lawyer really had something Trump would have been toast by now.

There was publicly available evidence of a crime when she ran. Because she said that does not give Trump immunity during her term. I am curious how the side that chanted "lock her up" thinks that would have worked? Do you think Hillary has immunity from the law because Trump ran on a platform of "lock her up"? Trump can and I believe has sued to try to stop her but he will lose that if he hasnt already. The investigation is taking so long because of stall tactics Trumps legal team has been using. They consistently lose but they purposely go thru evey level of the court system trying to run the clock out. I believe its only recently that they got a hold of his taxes after something like a 4 year long court battle.
What crime would that be?

For her jurisdiction that would be tax and insurance fraud. There is also Conspiracy to violate campaign finance laws, obstruction of justice for telling Cohen to lie about the Moscow Trump tower project, perjury for his written under oath response that there was no coordination with wikileaks and that he didnt know about the Trump tower meeting in 2016, and illegally used his charity for his own profit. These are the crimes Cohen has admitted to either being a part of or witnessing. But I guess Trumps own personal lawyer admitting to these crimes is nothing but a random kid in Georgia admitting to a crime should be accepted as fact before an investigation even takes place.
His personal lawyer will say anything as long as he can keep himself out of trouble. You would think if there was direct evidence like he says something would have happened by now. How long have they had his tax records and they still haven't found anything? If they do catch him it'll be on something Mickey Mouse more than likely. Good luck on getting him on overvaluing his properties.
Btw, for someone trying to become the AG of NY to actually run on getting Trump is still BS with no investigation ongoing no matter how you try to downplay it.

How is admitting to crimes trying to keep himself out of trouble? He got 3 years in prison.
There is also legal recourse Trump has if the prosecutor is maliciously trying to prosecute him. He has already filed that lawsuit but it's going to lose.

What would he have gotten if had not cooperated? I will agree that trump won't win that lawsuit. As I said if he has direct truthful knowledge of this stuff Trump should have been nailed by now.

I dont know what Cohen would have gotten but he would have done less time because Trump would have pardoned him.
As for Trump they are still investigating. Unlike most of us he will have the best defense attorneys working for him. If he was a person who had to rely on a public defender he would have been arrested already because you surrender your right to a speedy trial if you take a public defender. Trumps lawyers will most likely delay the trial as long as possible but if the prosecutor doesnt have their ducks in a row when they indict him they could demand the trial start before the investigation even finishes. The indictment of the CFO was the beginning. That's clearly about leveraging him to talk which is standard operating procedure no matter how some here might cry about it.

What will happen Trump will be indicted on some BS charge and will not be convicted. What's amazing about you is how you go on and on about our corrupt justice system but you can't see the **** being done here because you hate Trump so much.
You can't see the fact that this is a ploy to stop Trump at all costs for 2024.

On top of that Trump didn't get a free ride. If his property was overvalued he paid more in taxes.
I've never worked on anything close to as complex as Trumps taxes but typically taxes have a concept of cost basis which is the original cost of the building and it is not subject to Fair Market valuations.
What he was probably doing is creating a balance sheet for bank purposes to secure collateralized loans.
Doubt this had any impact on his tax obligations.
