There is no indication he was referring to Austrian German. He thought Austria had its own language. If this was Trump who did this you would be calling him an idiot.

What about his pronunciation of "corpsman"? Do you have an excuse for that as well?

Edit- If Trump said something about speaking American you and the other libs would be losing your minds. Do you really think I'm going to buy the bull**** you're peddling here?

I am aware what the phrase is. I'm also aware that you have no sense of nuance. And no sense of a common blunder vs. and uncommon blunder.

I'll add another layer. Idioms, what Obama was talking about can vary heavily regionally much less between different national languages. What Obama did was no worse, infact probably even better than George Bush's We Won't Get Fooled Again moment. If all Obama said was "I don't know the the term is in Austria" there's not comparison. Adding an "N" to the end is hardly comparable to confusing soup with state police.

Useful idiots still defending their queen, got to love it.

I mean if you want to be anal, Austrian German is a language in a similar way American ENglish is a language. Like I said, easy mistake. not like confusing Stalin with Stollen.
